See, I have a good feeling about Episode III. In the first two movies, he had much more creative liberty about what he could do. All he really needed to do was introduce some basic plot-lines, and stretch it out over two movies. He then filled in with random cool graphics, races, and such.
With Episode III, he knows EXACTLY what he has to do to wrap it up. He knows he can't afford to deviate from the plot, because this is the last one baby. He knows that this prequel has to be good, or else he will get raped (although he already seems to not care, giving the "It's my vision" argument. I don't mind the argument, but we can still say that the vision ended up sucking). You've got Palpatine and the chancellor rising to power, anakin turn to the dark side, anakin become darth vader, padme give birth to children, all the jedi getting wiped out, Dooku to die, Yoda escaping, Obi-Wan getting his master status and escaping with the children, and the end of the Clone-Wars. In Episode I and II, basically all he needed was really introduce characters and relations.
That is the thing about Episodes I and II (other than some terrible script/acting). He just waited too long to give us the essential wrap-ups, just waiting for Episode III.
