I tried to search to see if anyone had posted about this but it won't let me search for "HL2" or "mod" because they're less than 4 letters.
something doesn't seem right about that.
but anyway.

They don't have much yet but I'm thrilled to see this none the less.

The models are sexy.

Unless the project keeps a really low profile, those greedy self-serving b******s over at LEC will probably try to shut it down.

I really dislike when mods release unskinned models.

Yes!
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

I'd rather see them showcasing code segments than models. This is just a sign that they'll die early.

They probably will die early because it is such a large project but it still looks nice. Gotta admit that.

Then why havent they tried to shutdown the DFMod for JA? That isnt exactly a low-profile project... considering their demos have been distributed with gaming magazines.

As long as they don't use any original materials from DF, Lucasarts has no real reason to close them down. (They still could for usage of a trademark, but I doubt they would)

Will the mod get further than the DFmod for JA? I liked the DFmod for JA, but HL2 has a better, more easier to edit engine.

The DFmod for JA has had a lot of work put into it so far, I think it would take a while before this mod would be at a comparable stage. Granted, HL2 is easier to edit for, so it might not take them as long, but I think its probably still not likely that this mod will ever achieve the same level of success as the JA mod has.

Looks nice so far, but no textured models is NOT cool.
