The Massassi Map?

Whatever happened to the Massassi Map? I saw a link for it awhile ago but it hasn't been updated. Maybe we could all work on a new one and update it like every month or something. I don't know maybe.:D

Aye, it kind of died. I'm still looking to change my old moniker on the map.

Go bug Spork, methinks he's the keeper of the map.

I still have the name list. I just never found a map large enough. Neither could anyone else.
Think while it's still legal.

That one would work perhaps with a little editing to remove the text....

Smaller (I think) but cleaner

The Massassi Map

What we need is an automated map, where people sign up and it automatically lists their location. Something similar to the map for SA Goons.

What if you move? For example, I'm in India now instead of Massachusetts.

I like this idea. Does anyone know of anycode for this? I would be willing to help with it.

And SMOCK! that's why this would be a good idea because you would be able to change your location.

What about those guestbook maps? You could just take the code from one of those and people could add themselves.

Spork, do you still have a clean version of the map?

The wikipedia map looks very nice for this sort of work.

I could write a web a script so users can manage their own positions on a unified map... Any takers?

Sounds good to me.

Back when Totally Oblivious was around (for all 4 of you who remember it), those forums had a map feature. It didn't work, but I think that's because it wasn't properly configured.

Automated map sounds good to me.

Yeap. The latest one is 3 maps on top of each other, pretty sure I've got all 3.

According to that I am not the only San Diegan? And I've seen that map too, quite impressive (SA).

It wouldn't do. It really need to be a political map and not a physical map.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

So we already have a map that works. It would be a bit harder to automate since everything isn't necessarily in order.

Cool, going by the map, lateralus lives about 30 minutes from me. I thought I was the only Massassian remotely near here.

Speaking of maps - Where's that funky map which had a really weird theme to it with "here be dragons" and "cubans will attack us with their cigars" and crazy stuff like that? It might have been titled "the american map of the world" or something. Anyway, if you have it - post it. It made me laugh.

The sad thing is, I know enough PHP to POSSIBLY make something like that... BUT I have no time at the moment.. sorry... >_>

To anyone else who wants to take a crack at it: http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.image.php (Don't expect to get it working easy, if at all, on a Windows-based PHP.)

That coupled with some SQL should make the core. :) Oh and save generated images unless you want your webhost yelling at you for having PHP generate a new image for every single request. :p

I've been to Mt. Airy a few times... it's got nothing on Winston, though.
