It's been way to long since we have had one of these threads.
So, how have you all been getting along in your games?
I just cracked out the PC copy again, and have just started.
Level 3 Imperial in balmora, Crusader, under the sign of the steed.
Just got done with arkngthand and am about to head to the andrano ancestral tomb.

I bought the game a while ago because everyone said it was so awesome. The game looks pretty cool, I love the water, but the character models are weak, even for when the game was made. The game starts off a bit slow and confusing. I ran around from place to place for ages looking for stuff to do (I have both expansions as well). I found something to do, and then I got into combat, and the combat sucked so bad it was painful to play. If Morrowind had good combat it would be an amazing game. I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm just saying it isn't as good as people make it out to be.

I really feel like picking it up again. But I don't want to go through the tediousness that the beginning is. I'm trying to think of a good game to start up...but nothing comes to mind :(

I found the beginning to be a lot more enjoyable than the last part of the game, wandering around getting everyone to endorse me isn't my idea of fun.

I like its combat.
It's like D&D turn based play, but with real time thrown in.

Every time someone makes a morrowind thread, it makes me want to reinstall it. THEN I remember how long I've wasted not beating the game ever.

Then I go pack to tetris

My computer won't let me play the game anymore. I had a pretty nice character being set up. Level 30 (or something like that) Imperiall battlemage. Got a nice house, married a catlady, and have a ton of books...I miss playing that game :(

I did this about 6 months ago. I forgot why I stopped playing, so I reinstalled it, and started playing.

As soon as I got off the ship, it crashed. Then I remembered why I quit.

I have it on Xbox. I couldn't tell you much of anything about my character any more... That might be because I haven't felt like playing it in months.

You know, there are mods to improve the combat with special moves, etc. and the bodies to make them mearly seamless.

Oh, and MOOGLES!
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

The water looks like crap to me, if you look at it, you'l notice that its nothing but the same "animated" square repeated over and over.

i played the heck out of that game....definetely one of my favorites on the xbox. i stopped playing after i beat the main quest in morrowind using the backpath......shouldn've have killed off that wizard in gnisis in the very beginning of imperial legion. (he locked up a fellow imperial, and i didn't have a good lockpick....plus it didn't say the thread was broken when i killed him!)

o btw level 43 (i think) dark elf named Alcarohtar. (my real name in elvish)

I bought the PC version again after hearing great stories about it(plus, it was only 5 bucks), and from what I've played, the game's great for exploration, specifically with the gorgeous graphics. I loved touring the land and all, going from city to city, staring at some of the sights. Too bad of the lack of wildlife, I would've loved to observe those from a distance. I can remember the first time that I came across some farm and saw a giant jellyfish, I got a real 'This IS a different world' view.

Unfortunately, way I see it, that's all there is, exploration. I've tried getting into the storyline, but only found it to be vaguely interesting, and the fact that the NPCs are a bit... lacking didn't help either. The game had a bit of a lonely feeling to it, I'm not quite sure how to describe it. And of course, there's the combat which was also a bit mehish.

Overall, it was worth its 5 bucks for the exploration alone... but that's really it for me.
The answer is maybe.

Burrie, I think the best way to explain that "lonely" feeling is this:

You feel like the only actual person in a world full of mannequins or robots. Nobody really does anything, everyone is there no matter what time of the day or night, and they all say nearly the EXACT same things. It's painfully obvious that the entire game world is set up for you and you alone. There are plenty of shops and taverns, but you're the only one shopping and talking. You are also the only person on the island that does missions. Sure, you meet some people out in the middle of nowhere, but they're still just standing around like in the middle of the cities.

I love the Leprchaun mod. I got a great wepon to start out with and i had so much luck and skill i stole everything and became very rich and hevily armored. I should play that game more often:D
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
