Actually, this is a story about a moron who left a loaded gun (even worse, a round chambered) on the counter and got shot when his cat knocked it off. I am a strong support of the right to own weapons including handguns, but damn some of these people are stupid!

Seriously, who in their right mind leaves a gun loaded and chambered about?
VTEC just kicked in, yo!

Poor cat. I hope the sound of the shot didn't damage the cat's hearing...

People that stupid deserve to be shot by their cat.

Cats are smart. I'm sure the cat knew what he was doing.

ahaha that's what he gets for forgetting to feed the cat or change out the kitty litter!

Hahaha, that was very funny in an ironic and dark-humored sort of way :D

. . . . but man, that is quite sad really. :(

I don't know about you guys, but if I left a loaded gun on a counter in a house with no other people, and THEN having a cat accidentally push the gun over, and THEN having the bullet hitting you... I think I would be less "stupid" and more "unlucky".

Very unlucky.

I'd probably shoot the cat.

Someone should post that picture of the cat holding the rifle. It would be very fitting for this thread.

What scares me is the thought that people like that are allowed to drive. I'm going to buy a Hummer. An armor plated Hummer.

The commercial ones really aren't as durable as one might think.

Certainly not the H2s, which are quite ugly. If you want something truely badass, you pull some strings and get a humvee.

He really didn't do anything stupid. Not that I can tell from the article, that is.

The whole story is abit fishy as well. It is so incredibly hard to have an accidental discharge with a modern pistol by dropping it. I wonder if it was faulty, modified, cocked, or what. Not to mention how often do cats knock things off counters? Sure, it happens but not very often.

I hate these news stories that leave so much information out.

Wow... first a puppy shoots a person and now a cat? What is this world coming to! I don't know about you but if I ever catch an animal getting anywhere near a loaded gun, I'm getting the hell outta there!

That is true. But nonetheless, it still more fun to make fun of him.
