But dead dragons are always cool, right? RIGHT?

Linked because they're all 1280x1024 and well.. yeah big.

This was our 13th or 14th try at it, but we finally managed to bring Onyxia down. As of right now she's the 3rd hardest boss in the game, and we're the first on our server (Mal'ganis) to do it, so we're pretty happy. :) Full raid of 40 level 60s, with quite a few UI mods to assist us in organization.

The entire fight is crazy, hectic, and way too much fun. You HAVE to coordinate, and know where to stand, etc. so that you don't get destroyed immediately. Onyxia is very, very capable of killing an entire raid group in under a second (especially when she takes flight), so a lot of organization is required.

We used, so many mods to help out. Raidbar to monitor health for the entire raid of people (I only have healers and tanks shown on mine there), macros with a mod that displays big text RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN with a sound effect so that we could position ourselves correctly and not die when she breathes flame all over her lair, etc. All of that in addition to Ventrilo. It's a lot of work but it's a lot of fun to boot.

If you're wondering about the loot, she dropped 2 priest items (Halo of Transcendence, and Boots of Transcendence, the tier 2 epic priest set helm/boots), and the Helm of Ten Storms (shaman tier 2 epic helm). No I didn't get any of it. (Being a shaman I was drooling over the helm though...) You can find those on Allakhazam or Thottbot easily enough.

Sort of a nerdy Birthday present for me, in a way...

I cancelled my account. Maybe if that new patch ever comes back, I'll start up again so I'll be ready for Battlegrounds.

maybe if there was some way for me to try the game for free i might consider it...

Wow. Nice going.

My level 44 priest wants those items.

On a side note.
Priest is so hard...

Priest is the most loved character ot other classes, but it's the ******* child of classes when you actualy play Priest.

I love being a support and helpful class, but sometimes I want the blast the crap and kill something in 2 blows of a sword :P.

On the bright side, I don't have to deal with people attacking me if everyone else in the group helps out with that. All I have to do is stand there and do my best to not let anyone die :D. Sounds easy enough.

It's lke you dont have to actually do the "attacking to gain XP" part, just let everyone else do it. It's just a pain to do sometimes, other times, it's amazingly awesome.

Like you can save the group with a simple 2 spell casts. Shield one person, renew on another, and give full health to the third (ok so 3 casts). In the middle of a very heated battle.
Anyway, that's my rant.

Veger, are you a shadow priest? Because you know... run tings. my hunter can defeat any class any time up to 4 levels above himself with two exceptions. Even at lvl 45 I can probably be beaten by like a lvl 35 rogue in a regular PvP environment, and starting probably around lvl 40, shadow priests just own me.
A lvl 60 shadow priest in my guild survived a gank by 2 lvl 60 rogues and a lvl 58 druid simultaneously, and killed all three. So... Shadow priests are the way to go.

That's impressive, Gonk. Shame you didnt all get something out of it though.

Yeah, too bad you didn't get anything from her.

Dangit, I wish my WoW account wasn't frozen for a full CC. My parents better put money on it soon.

Don't play WoW, but I have heard how much of a challenge Oynxia is. Good job!!
How'd you guys decide who got the items? Or did you sell them for the guild.
2005-03-15, 8:07 AM #14
I play WoW. I have a level 19 Paladin on spirestone. If any of you play there I'll add you to my buddy list and maybe we can quest sometime.

Quite an accomplishment, congrats Gonk!

BTW Dagger, I have a character on Spirestone, but he's horde. Guess I'll see you on the battlefield!

Elune:
- Cylas: Level 55 Night Elf Rogue

Spirestone:
- Saek: Level 15 Troll Shaman
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Sigh. Magtheridon is still down for the repair cycle this morning and I have a craving to play...

Celuna, 10 Human Warrior on Arthas

and

Brayde, 24 Human Mage on Magtheridon
Zalth, 10 Human Paladin on Magtheridon

I'm a noob but I love the game.

I heard last night that there were some people doing the Onyxia thing on Mag; but I didn't hear anything about success. It looks like a pain in the rear end!

We work on a sort of modified/non-crap DKP system. Basically how it works is that if you go on raids, you get points for the boss kills, and any drops as well. So people spend points to get the items, and those with more points obviously have first dibs. If they pass, then it goes down the line. Pretty fair system, and really it's better than /random which apparently hates me. (I haven't rolled anything over a 50 in about 3 weeks.)

Yeah I've been horribly, horribly addicted to WoW...

Wow Gonk, that's awesome. What's next for you guys... Ragnaros? :P

I play a level 38 mortal strike warrior (who will switch to protection for a bit once he's high level, then back to MS for PVP) and a Loveadin. The Loveadin is designed specifically for team-loving. Focused completely on healing and the indestructibility that is the Paladin. Both on Sargeras with Mikus.

My guild attempted to raid MC last weekend.
We were killed by Ragnaros.
Its pretty hard, there is alot of strategy involved you have to use, and you need alot of priests.
Love my 60 dwarf hunter :)

The funny thing really, is when they raise the level cap and this guy can be brought down by 12 level 80s >.>
