Saw Spider-Man again...

So just before I saw that pile of junk (Mission to Mars), I saw Spider-Man on TV too. I can only say that I love that movie. SOme scenes are really funny. Yeah after the 4th time the film is a bit boring, but I could watch it thousend times again....

I love that movie. Apparently not being a prior Spidey fan and not giving a damn what changes they made to Spidey cannon has a lot to do with that.

Its good, but not as good as the sequel
nope.

Better than the second (ugh) but not a good movie in and of itself. I'm not a Spidey fan, and have no idea what changes they made, but the chemistry (or lack thereof) between Maguire and Dunst, combined with Dunst's flat acting and Maguire's zealous overacting, it comes off just...bleh.

I've found that the only likeable characters between the two films are the Green Goblin, Doc Oc, and Aunt May. The rest of the characters are...horrible.

Doc Ock is my idol. I'm seriously considering building a fusion reactor to pay homage.

Maybe if MJ weren't a double-crossing jezebel whore and if Peter Parker wasn't a complete wuss who loses his powers because he's sad he can't get said jezebel whore.

I thought they were very faithful to Spidey cannon. There were, of course, changes but very much common sense type changes. Unlike Xmen which, while still being a good movie, made huge changes to the original material.

Sometimes they just *have* to make changes from the source for it to work as a movie.

The action scenes in Spider-Man 1 sucked, they were awesome in 2. I think Spider-Man 1 was more of a test then a movie, Spider-Man 2 was the awesome product.
Think while it's still legal.

Both movies were long and tedious. They both dragged on the same old "Which should I choose? My superhero life or my normal life" storyline. Sure they had some great action scenes but who really wants to sit through a movie with Peter Parker whinging about what the right thing to do is and then sit through it's sequel with Peter Parker still whinging about what the right thing to do is?

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Spider-man 2 > Spider-man

Also, Spawn and The Crow are amazing.

Peter Parker is supposed to be a teenager/young adult, of course he's going to be a whiney pain in the *** that pines over a girl. It happens all the time here on the forums, I thought people would have picked up on that considering most of us are of that age.

PS. Spiderman rocks, that is all.
Rock is dead - but I believe in necrophilia.

Nah."

I thought the first half of the first movie was pretty ok. The second half of it was pretty bad though. The second movie was pretty good.

While I'm not a huge Spider-Man fan, I think it was kind of clear that Parker wasn't just not being Spider-Man, he was turning away from his "responsibility." The fact that he could have helped that guy without being Spider-Man doesn't really effect his choice to forget his responsibility. If anything, it strengthens his choice. He could have helped the guy, without being Spider-Man, and yet he decided not to.

I don't know. I don't like the "hero" being a selfish *******. I want him to be...I dunno...a hero.
