Well I officially took the 'plunge' into an actual MMO. I acquired the 10-day trial from a friend so that I may enjoy it through Spring break (of World of Warcraft), so now it's installing, and I'm wondering just exactly what I'm in for. I've beta tested and ran on private servers for random ones in the past, but it's been a while since I dipped into the MMO scene.

So yeah, in other words...post your mouse.

Dj, that mouse looks so huge, ugly, and unusable that I must ask how you use it?

Yeah I don't know how you use that, my friend has one and I can't stand it.

Anyway here's mine, microsoft wireless optical notebook mouse. The USB receiver clips onto the bottom of the mouse, keeps it from getting lost in the laptop case.

For gaming, I refuse to use anything else. At least until I can afford the really nice wireless finger trackball Logitech sells.

On my laptop, I use an iRock optical I got for free from TigerDirect after a rebate.

I used to have the same trackball as Ric_Olie, and I find it much easier to aim in FPS' than with a mouse. It's all about preference I guess. :p

I should look into a good trackball to replace my cruddy mouse.

Yoshi, if you don't mind a little lag, come to Sargeras, it's an excellent server and if you're alliance I'll hook you up with some gold and advice to make your trial more fun! To get the most of your playing experience, I recommend a hunter or rogue, they're not by any means the most fun classes (I tell a lie, I love that **** out of my hunter, and he's the most fun for ME) but they level up the fastest because of the way their skillsets are designed.

But don't let me advise you away from anything, all classes are 99% balanced and all racial bonuses don't make a huge difference, so pick what appeals to you! Have fun :)

Me, too, but when I was buying a new mouse I got one like GBK's, simply because it has a mousewheel (the other doesn't)

I swear by the trackball.

The MX1000 is a beautiful mouse, and I would have to say don't knock it till you try it. And by try I mean buy, then use for a few days, then return (if you want). It's just awesome. And with the price point of ~55-60 bucks at newegg, a GREAT deal.

Anyways...I've got to convince my parents to let me use their Credit Card #...fun.

Logitech mice have great build quality. Unlike Microsoft mice, they're heavy and made out of higher strength plastics. It's the kind of mouse that, if a cheetah was running at you, you could kill it.

You know, there are those rechargable batteries that look just like disposable batteries, and thus can be used instead of them.

Here's my Mouseman Dual Optical and the Guardian Orc (he makes sure no nefarious MS mouse gets anywhere near my Logitech). This is the best mouse I have ever used, anywhere. (Goes without saying that I haven't tested those most recent mice on the market...)

The Logitech ones come with a charging cradle (the receiver) and with 1800 mAh rechargable NiMHs, which last quite a while and don't suffer the "memory effect" forcing you to buy new batteries any time soon. You can get high capacity NiMHs at any store, like 2200 mAh or more, and should make them last a day or two longer. I found two 2200 mAh batteries in my basement over spring break, so I stoled them. I realize you were probably joking, but FYI anyway.
