The fastest I've gotten is 15 MB/s. It is great when you click to download a few MB size file and you have to look to see if it worked because it downloaded so quickly that it wasn't on the screen long enough to see.

Wow, I remember when both my friend and I had 28.8 k modems, and I got a new one that was 36.6 k, and I was bragging about how much faster my downloads were going....

everyone once in a while my 56k connects at 115kb/s, runs like crap though and has a high error percentage

I've seen that phenomenon before; my modem connected and was downloading at over 30 kb/s (that's kilo-BYTES)... but then the file was corrupted.

There's full frontal nudity in the pilot... And it's a lot more gory than subsequent episodes, too. Anyone know the reason for the drastic changes? Although, there have been a few times when there's been some swearing since...

The show was originally airing on showtime, or HBO, or one of those prenium movie channels. It wasn't bought up by that channel's viewers, so they changed format to switch Fox?

Emon: what connection do you have?

I'm quite happy with Roadrunner here. I get 600kb/s down, and that's about where most servers will max out anyways.

Wait till you get to university, download speeds will be far beyond anything you can get from a regular ISP.

I can get ~700k/sec (max I've seen is over 4mb/sec) without any accelerator program..this is on campus (community college).

Unless, of course, you're at Mizzou, where even though they claim to have a 10Mbps network, they throttle all the users down like crazy. It's rare that I get over 60Kbps down.

Right now, I'm doing an apt-get upgrade at 9343B/s. Though it might also have something to do with the fact that I'm connected wirelessly at 11Mbps to my router, which is in turn connected to the network. But even when directly plugged into the wall, never more than 60Kbps.

I occasionaly get burst over 5 or more MB/sec but that's rare because outside lines stend to be slow but if i get a good server can hit 5+ more MB/sec but currently my tcp/ip stack is sort of fscked up right now so it corrupts on uploads of anything execeding 13 kb/sec or more

RIT. Unfortunately they seem to cap our uploads at 1 Mbps. However I believe it is 1 Mbps per IP address, so I should be able to get 1 Mbps uploading from both of my machines in the same room.
