Played around with a screenshot I took from the Forgotten Hope Mod for BF1942. It looks pretty radically changed.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

Aaaand another enhanced screenie. IL2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles.
A winter-camo Bf109 Emil takes a few too many 20mm ShVAK rounds through the wing root and the fuel tank (ingeniously placed right underneath and behind the pilot's seat in the cockpit). I think the pilot just barely had enough time to bail before the explosion.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.
