That's annoying. I can't make a picture smaller than 1 pixel high.

...how do you make something 640 x 0?
Think while it's still legal.

I think it's 640 x 480.

But they really REALLY should make it at least 800 x 600

Unfortunately, there seem to be some people on the forums who haven't progressed technologically past 800x600.

Ah. I was trying to attach a censored version of this comic to this thread. It didn't even occur to me that a PA cartoon could be too wide. Seems like the restriction is a little harsh.

That's a bit.. sad.

I'm on what, 1280 x 1024?

I'm on 1280x1024 too. That's almost two penny-arcade-lengths! (which is how I measure resolution)

It's not the physical width of the image that we are concerned about, its the size of the file. The attachments table on the DB tends to take up a lot of space, and when it gets too large, thats when we start to get DB errors. Also, it tends to make things a bit nicer for those of us on 56k.

As for the 0 height, when you set the the maximum to 0 on the cp, it lets you use any height. The fact that the error message still displays it as a limit is probably a bug.

1280*1024 - only the cool kids with LCD monitors use that resolution (seriously, have you ever seen a CRT set at 1280*1024?).

you know they do alternate 'clean' strips... and sadly, that comic doesn't have anything to clean up by their standards

Not I. I used to run my CRT at 1600x1200.

Now I run my laptop at 1280x800. 16:9 is nice.

The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

I'm also worried about width of the image. The point is that when it gets wider than that, it causes horizontal scroll bars. If you have an image bigger than that, please just link it :)

Cool kids do not use 1280x1024, cool kids use 1280x960.

That's 16:10, not 16:9. I know this, I have a laptop with the same res :D

1280x768 is 16:9.

1280x960 is proper 4:3

1280x1024 is some funky res that LCDs use. I run this res on both monitors, since its more convenient.

I use an LCD @ 1920x1200 :p

There is no vertical limit to posted pictures, so the vertical limit shows up as 0. The only limit is the horizontal limit of 640 pixels.
