Serious medical question for you guys

Ok, my best friend has been sick for a really long time, so he has to go to the doctor and have the cam shoved up his butt and down his throat to check for things. Has anyone had this done? What if they find something?... I just want to know if he is going to be ok....:(

Having a camera rammed up your rear isn't enough information for the average Massassian to make a diagnosis.

Had a camera down the throat once to check for some certain stomach condition (cancer, maybe?) when I was 7. Didn't find anything.

Had it done a couple weeks ago. They drug you up, it's not bad. I don't remember most of it.
The part worse than the thing going up your butt is the day without eating and the specail drink. It tasted worse than anything I've ever tasted in my life.

Uumm ... I didn't want to ask him a baziilion questions...all I know is he has been sick w/ some kind of virus for a long time....that involes alot of meds-which arent working .So now they want to rummage through his guts looking for something growing....:(

the whole camera-up-the-a** thing sounds like a great idea for a reality TV show. I just have to market it to the networks. :p

Ok guys...please don't put wise-*** remarks. I am seriously afraid they are going to find cancer....and Im hoping for someone to tell me that it's no big deal...they have had it done themselves.....and ppl put stuff about whether they clean the camera between looking in the opp ends..... I'm sure u think it's funny....but I don't ...please...just needed some help....so please stop joking about it.

Sorry. My post showed some very bad judgement.


If they do find a cancer, let's hope it's early in development. The sad truth is that cancer in intestines, like colorectal cancer, does have a high mortality rate, and as a cancer type, it's quite common.

I apologize for *****ing everyone out about it...you have the right to say what u wish....but thank u for sayin ur sorry about it.....and ... everyone in my family that has had cancer, has died....so...i ..just didn't know where to turn for the whole...freaking out that the coolest person alive I know may die.... :(

Couldn't they just use a X-Ray or something like that, or such instruments can't pinpoint certain points of interest?

They aren't doing an xray bc they forsee having to cut growths off while they are going through his insides....

And for some reason..I just can't joke about it.....too many deaths ...not a joking matter for me...and i usual don't care...

Everyone's been affected by death here, my own father was killed, so I know where your fear is coming from. But instead of the anger and hatred towards the responcible party, I'd rather joke about it.

Sounds like a colonoscopy they're doing. You say "things that are growing" Shoving something up the rear is probably used to look for polyps in the colon which can turn cancerous. If they wanted to look for things in the stomach, they would go down the esophagus.

The man knows what he's talking about. I was just about to say colonoscopy .

Anyway, I'm sorry man, that is truly very heart-wrenching. I have several friends who have lost family due to cancer, though I've neve experienced it firsthand. I'll be praying for you. :(

Sounds like a colonoscopy? *Shrugs* I thought it was obvious .. is there any other procedure where they stick a camera up there?

But yea, hopefully they won't find anything bad, and just put him on medication like they did with me.

I have a friend who has Crohn's disease, she has to have a colonoscopy done once a year. :o

I think they're going to have to tie me down the first time I get my prostate checked. I'm probably going to want to kill somebody.

lmfao...ok...that actually did brighten my morning

Thnx guys....and he's going in at 8:45...whenever he wakes up from all the meds and such...Ill fill u in on if they found anything

And for the record...I would rather just do the one up the ***...my gag reflux blows and someone told me ur throat is sore after they do that one...
