Read Ayn Rand.

I'm currently reading Atlas Shrugged, and read Anthem before, and must admit that the logic in it is quite intriguing. It's an interesting take on capitalism, greed, and socialism.

Plus, she's got a good writing style.

Check it out

I tried reading Fountainhead, and couldn't finish it. :/

I read Anthem back in grade 9. I thought it was fascinating.

I love her! It was terrible in my philosophy class...it was obvious the prof hated her, and refused to teach anything she said by refutting it as nonsense. I think she makes some really good points, especially in Anthem.

Really what she lays down is the basics of why captialism works so well. I'm loving the book, even though there's no real 'plot' so far, it's just a retelling of events, really. Still quite good.

I read the fountainhead and really liked it. I didn't get the objectivist philosophy that was supposedly there in the main character (Rourke?), but it still kept me reading.

I love Ayn Rand's stories, but I cannot stand her philosophy. Atlas Shrugged is definitely my favorite of her works, and Anthem my least.

Ayn Rand is lost to me forever. I'd already associated her works with angry, maladjusted adolescents before I'd even seen her books. And her philosophy is morally repugnant and her politics intellectually void. That's just me, though.

I started the Fountainhead over break, and haven't picked it up since, but I was enjoying it. A very different sort of book, Anthem reminded me too much of 1984 or Brave New World. I liked it, but it wasn't anything "dramatically" new.

Atlas Shrugged > Fountainhead (slightly) >> Anthem > We the Living.

Atlas Shrugged is quite possibly my favorite book.

Anthem and We the Living were pretty good, but in my mind, Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged are in a totally different league.

Atlas Shrugged is just amazing. Even if you don't like her philosophy, the book is art at its finest.
