Thankyou professor obvious. ;)

However, try reading the comic out loud, to someone who hasn't seen it.

It's just funny to listen to.

There was an old Superman/Batman comic that came out during WW2. On the cover it shows Superman, Batman and Robin riding giant cannons on a battle ship. Suffice to say it looks like all 3 have giant male organs between there legs. And Robin has this huge grin on his face.

Look back and you'll see alot of weird stuff that isn't "politically correct" these days. Including a "Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane" issue where she lives 1 day as a black woman.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

Great place for bizzare and silly comic covers.

My personal favourites are the ones where Superman is denying people water. There are a few of them :P

Except Batman's parents would already of been dead when that was done. He lost them when he was 7 or 8, not 14.

You also have to remember that all of this is Pre-crisis which means things are really different from post-crisis continuity. As far as I know, post-crisis superboy is not superman (as they exist together). But Pre-Crisis SuperBoy does become Superman...I think. Maybe on one of the Earths...

I can't be sure. This is why we had the first Crisis! And now, it looks like we are headed for another one...

I also thought Batman became Batman because he had some kind of vision that it was his destiny, and not because Superman said "Hey, this is who you are gonna be, so get ready!"

Also I dont seem to recall him being 7 or 8 when his parents were killed in the movies... and I know that doesnt follow the comics but I also dont happen to have issues 1 through 10 of the original Batman comic on me either.

Post Crisis Superboy is Connor Kent, the "cousin" of Clark Kent. He is actually a genetic clone of Superman and Lex Luthor. Yes, you read that right. Lex Luthor is his father as much as Superman. He has the laser vision but hasn't learned to "use" it, but he's used it by accident a few times. He also has telekinetic powers, which Superman obviously lacks.

Actually he trains to fight crime from the moment his parents are murdered. The thing is, he doesn't know how or what to do once he is ready as far as a costume goes. The original origin according to Detective Comics #33; is that a bat flies through the window of his home while he is trying to think of a disguise. He sees it as an omen. This exists post-Crisis as well. And yeah, I have a copy (not original) of issue 33 and a later issue, like Batman #405 or something, lying around.

A little trivia thing for you, in the original origin, his mother is shot dead. However, later it was changed to her dying of a heart attack upon witnessing her husband murdered as the comic code prohibited a woman being murdered in comics at the time (like 1950s or 60s). It was changed back to being shot though years later. Also, the yellow oval with the bat in the center was designed to copyright. Originally, it was not allowed to copyright just a bat, they had to do something, so they put the yellow oval. In the comics, it was said the oval had extra shielding, and people would naturally aim towards it cause the rest of the costume was dark, and the yellow stood out. It's also been changed back in recent years cause writers/artists just like the regular look better.

The comic world is built on ret-coning.

I don't follow Superman, really. So I don't know much about pre/post-crisis Superman besides the fact that post-crisis Superman is a wuss :P

Pre-Crisis Superman was a wuss. Post-Crisis is the current Superman.

OH and this has to be the greatest comic cover ever. I love the look on Robin's face.

OMG you have to look at this one. I spent the past 10 minutes laughing.

You know, I'm so glad that Robin in Batman The Animated series does not have short shorts like those. Speaking of which, why are there two Robins? One is the tall one and the other is the short one?

One of them is Dick Grayson, and the other is Tim Drake.

Dick has an argument with Batman over something, and leaves and does his own thing as "Night Hawk." Later on Tim Drake takes over the role of Robin.

Umm, Dick Grayson becomes "Nightwing". He's been with the Titans, and now the Outsiders (I believe).

Yes. The original Robin was Dick Grayson. He gave up being Robin, became Nightwing and still is.

The second Robin was Jason Todd. Nobody liked Jason Todd, so DC set a phone-vote thing where fans could choose whether or not to kill him. They voted to kill him (Correction: it was a 1-900 number to call. The vote was close, 5,343 to 5,271).

Robin III is Tim Drake. I don't know much about him. I guess since he is still alive, people like him more than Jason.

I disagree. If anything, nobody acknowledges the cartoon as cannon. None of the animated series come all that close to the comics as far as continuity goes.

Don't forget, that blonde girl became Robin for like a month. No one liked her, so they brought Tim back.

However, people do acknowledge the cartoon as one of the best damn things to happen to Batman. In fact, the comics even took from the cartoon. Harley Quinn was a cartoon original but became a full canon character in the comics.

That may have been out of regular continuity. Not sure.

Well you have a point about Harley Quinn, who had her own title (maybe she still does, how the hell should I know? I don't read crappy comics :p). I think that if the cartoons can get people interested in the comics, then that's a good thing. Though the cartoons tore my favourite character(s) (the Green Lantern(s)) apart.
