I got the job!

Remember that interview I had a few weeks ago? Well, I've had several follow-up interviews with that company since then (and drug testing) , and as of today, I am Anderson News Co.'s newest merchandiser. My job is to drive around and stock magazines that anderson publishes. (someone else delivers them to the locations, my job is just to stock them.)

My pay is pretty decent for part-time, $8.50 per hour plus $.33 for every mile traveled while on the job. Milage adds up quick, so that's where I'll probably make the most money.

To give this thread a purpose, Post your job.

Don't have a job yet.

I turned down a programming job at a local tech firm because they were paying minimum wage. WTF?

Probably going to work at Staples or Circuit City during the summer before college begins.

No job as of yet; hoping to get a summer job as a tutor.

I recently started a new job in a distribution center where I unload trucks. The pay is decent, the work is hard, and my life continues to be the same as it has been since I was 18.

I'm going tomorrow for an interfiew to be a summer camp counselor. I talked to the people today, the chance of my getting the job is looking good so far.

Just remember, if someone leaves a trumpet laying around, don't start playing it. You don't know where it's been.

I work at share registry. Basically we're a third party who handle just about everything to do with many, many different company's shares, except the buying and selling of them. We handle things like dividend payments, share options and share plans, rudimentary things like company annual reports, as well as some financial and accounting services to companies. But our main role is to keep an up-to-date register of every shareholder in a company.

Bad: can get boring and repetitive.
Good: ultra-flexible, can basically work when I want, good money ($17.50 an hour plus overtime), working with long-time friends from school (one of whom is my boss) and great people in general, get to listen to mp3s all day.

By the end of this year I hope to also have a job as either a walk-around magician doing close-up magic at restaurant, or a metal bending routine at a nightclub / pub.

I work as a product designer at a small design company called OddBall (small as in only 2 people work there - myself and the boss). It's great work! I design random products like toys, promotional items, souvenirs etc. I also do all the graphic design and photography. One of the recent products we were working on was a dart board for the "Aussie Bloke". Basically I was paid to look up bikini babes all day on the internet. I only work 3 days a week, and it's amazimgly flexible.
