But they are keeping tight lipped about who the villian is. But the actor is Thomas Haden Church. (most of you will remember him as Lowell from Wings) He was in "panglish"recently and George of the Jungle a few years back.

I dunno, I think he seems more like the Scorpion or Mysterio possibly. Mysterio having greater movie potential than Scorpion. Post your thoughts.

I can see him playing a decent Eddie Brock. Not likely, so, my current villans are what I think will played out.

I heard that Venom was the villian... but I thought they casted (Or were planning to cast) The Rock as the part.. Prehaps Thomas Haden Church is Carnage?...Or the Sinister Six, minus Doc Ock?

I can see Church being a good Carnage.... the only problem is that would leave HUGE story gaps.... My guess is he'll be oneof the following...

2. Hobgoblin
3. Shocker
4. Mysterio

All I can tell you for sure, now that we know that Church is the new villan, These villans will not be in Spider-Man 3 (unless there is more than 1 villan)

Venom is too overhyped, I don't think he should or will be the villian.

Raimi has said that he doesnt like the Venom/Carnage storyline, so its probably not going to be included anytime soon.

If they do the Black cat they'll have to warp the storyline even more, since Felicia was Flash Thompson's girl, and not Mary Jane like they did in the first one.

They won't use a second rate villian for this movie. Second rate Spider-Man villians are Mysterio, Rhino, Scorpian, Shocker, etc. Electro is between A and B. Same with Vulture. This guy is either going to be Venom or Hobgoblin.

Why would they use hobgoblin? They already used Green Goblin in the first one, and Harry will likely be a Goblin variant in this third one... I think people will get pretty sick of Goblin villains if they use yet another one.

Well yeah. And if Raimi said a villian to please the fans, that would be Carnage or Venom most likely. Shocker is too frigging weak. Seriously, go back and find me 2 consecutive issues that features Shocker in it. He is too weak, an easy knock off villian. If he appeared, he'd just be hired muscle for someone, like Bullseye in Daredevil.

I really really want to see it be Venom. Church would play a GREAT Eddie Brock or Carnage... But I can see either of those two villains going terribly wrong... There would have to be serious usage of CG for Carnage... he has floating masses of symbiote all around his body at all times... Venom is a little more "solid", but Carnage... sheesh.

Kraven was never a hired hand villian. In fact he hired the second Vulture in 1 issue if I remember correctly. He was partners, but not hired hand. His good friend was the Chameleon though.

Kraven is dumb, sorry kirb, but he's just a guy in leopard skin and spandex. I agree that shocker is more of a "henchman" then a villan.. which is why i am leaning toward scorpion or mysterio.... i kinda hope that they leave venom & carnage alone... it's not their time yet. Oh yes, and this article says that black cat will more than likey be in Spider man 3 also...

The idea of the shocker is interesting, i could see him as a good herman schultz (was that his name). Most likely gonna be Quentin Beck, but Kleatus Kassidy...

Actually, Mysterio wasn't second rate. He had some good stories. He tried to get Daredevil to kill him and nearly drove DD insane. good story. He was one of the better Spider-man villans.

THRAWN is right about Kraven. He was rarely a hired hand. A Kraven/Chameleon pairing could be pulled of without damaging the comic image, considering they were half-brothers. And THRAWN, I honestly don't think they will do Venom and Carnage in the next one. Raimi stated he didn't like them. I hope to God that my thoughts are wrong though.(Just re-read Maximum Carnage, which I think will make a good movie:D)
