Voice Acting?

I'm interested in possibly getting a summer job of some kind, something other than flipping burgers! :p

I'm probably setting my ambitions way too high, but If it was possible, it would be highly suitable if I could get a voice acting job of somekind (or acting perhaps). I don't know if many Massassians have much experience with this, but any helpful links or reccomendations of trustworthy sources would be wonderful. I'm living in Asheville North Carolina, so not exactly Broadway, but I've been searching for a while, and the internet is horrible for something that narrowly specific.

I'm currently working in my school production of Much Ado About Nothing with one of the lead roles. I have all my lines memorized, and people seem to think I'm doing a good job. I was also reading a novel called "Sophie's World" in English class (I'm a 16 year old 10th grader, 17 in August) and people said they loved listening to me read. The substitute teacher (who is also my school's college counselor) said I read beautifully and should get a job making audio cassettes (she was probably joking, but I took her "advice" at face value).

And here's the bonus - I have an English accent (or at the least, transatlantic). I can't sing very well at all though. Still, does anyone have any suggestions. I know it's improbable, but this would be a perfect part-time job, because it would most likely pay well without long-term commitment, and it would be something I enjoy and could do without too much stress.

If someone wants me to post an *.mp3 with a sample of me reading something, just say.

A transatlantic accent is like a cross between British/American. The reason I said this is because I was born in England, lived there until I was 3, and then moved to the U.S. According to everyone here in the States, I still sound very British , but when I visit all of my family back in the U.K. they say "You sound like a bloody American!" :p

Here's a sample from Much Ado About Nothing (Sorry for the horrible quality, it had to be less than a 100kbs)

I hate to say it, but I sincerly doubt you'll be lucky enough to land a summer job as a voice actor. If anything you might get some one-time small job with almost no pay.

Hmm, most likely true, but PLEASE if any Massassian has any experience in this department, just say! :(
