well, both the pendragon production and the spielberg production have teaser trailers out. look for them on imdb.

speilberg's is http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0407304/
pendragon studios's is

look in the section under trailers to see them.

As for jeff wayne and his CGI movie based around his musical version, there is a test animation of the handling machine that was recently released. see it here http://www.waroftheworldsonline.com/movies/clip3.htm (needs quicktime)

All I can say is that all three (even though jeff wayne os waiting for the royalties for the two movies that are out this year) look like they will be sweet.

It will be interesting to compare the two that come out this year.

ps: the actress that played silvia in the 1953 version is going to appear in the speilburg production (which means that all her roles after the 1950's have been to do with her role in war of the worlds.)

Man, I loved watching the original War of the Worlds as a kid... great memories. Read the book a few times too. Hopefully the new one won't disappoint. So there's actually two of them coming out this year, or something? I only heard about the one.

i got so mad that they didnt show a machine, but everyone kept looking at them. but if you watch near the end, frame by frame, theres like 5 frames of one of them tipping a boat over. looks pretty cool.
