A couple of whacked CNN stories about cops

Half the crap I read on CNN is so depressing I feel like curling up into the fetal position. The other half is so absurd I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Woman fired because her boss (sheriff) found out she was living with a dude she wasn't married to (apparently against a 200 year old law)

Cop pulls over a doctor on his way to a baby delivery for driving 10mph over, didn't believe he was a doctor, dragged him to the hospital in cuffs...

For once, I'm actually agreeing with the ACLU.

The cop from the second one was suspened without pay, at least.

Wow. All those co-ed dorms, and I don't even want to think of all the students living off-campus...

Oh, shutup. You generalize about america so much, you don't even have a clue. It's not really anyone's fault except the stupid sheriff. Even my comment about NC was out of line..

Prehaps if the doctor slowed down, this case could have gone a bit easier. But I don't blame the guy for being in such a stressful situation.

Eh...I think the doctor had just cause to speed (assuming that he was speeding because he was needed for a delivery).

I meant, prehaps he should have slowed down after seeing the police car following him. *shrug*

Lokeinsky said Lilliston's actions did not warrant a more severe punishment because the doctor should have pulled over immediately and shown his identification.

No, I didn't. I kinda skimmed that article and didn't notice mentions of other states. However that actually doesn't surprise me, and I place blame more on the individuals who choose to enforce it than the fact that the law is on the books.
