NCsoft sent out a free 30 day serial code trial to all subscribers of lineage2.

It expires on april 22 and was wondering if anyone would be interested in it, it's meant as a give to a friend thing but my friend already plays anyways so just post in here if you're interested in my 30day trial serial code and ill randomly pick someone by friday

What is this "lineage2"?

i got some time in lab i can make a breif description.

You have several races to choose from

Elf
Darkelf
Dwarf
Orc
Human

The basis of the game is to be PvP oriented where you basically conglomerate with other clans to build forces to siege castles and claim control of hunting areas.

The game takes quite an effort to level and the grind may be a difficult thing to overcome to acchieve high lvls. (it's taken me almost a year to get to lvl 67.)

You have 100s of armor and weapons to choose from and you progress through various grade equipment

There are ample amount of raid bosses to do, tons of places to hunt and tons of people to kill.

The pvp system works henceforth

You "flag" purple for hitting someone and if the person refuses to fight back you become red(chaotic) if you kill someone who never hits you in return. At that point you have a high chance of dropping equipment while being red but hopefully you have friends to back you up and they will kill people that try to attack you while red.

If you someone "flags" back on you neither player is penalized and you will become white again after a few seconds after the fight is over.


The game has a stable economy although plagued by farmers, AKA players who play the game for the sole purpose of generating ingame currency to sell as real currency on ebay amnd ige etc....

As far as my experience goes the game has been a soap opera to me plagued by allainces and clans breaking up and turning against each other, having allainces buy off other clans to help in sieges or pvp etc... The game is not as fun until you get to lvl40+ where you begin to rely on parties and other players for more efficient experience.

Is this a click-to-move game? If so, meh.

it is click to move, but you can use arrow keys if you wish to.

You can assign attacks and spells to F1-F8 and you get up to 8 pages of tasks, there is an ingame macro system, although very simple.

You still need to use Mouse to target monsters and players.

I was a big fan of diablo2 series and transitioned to this game fairly easy.

The in game camera POV is inverted i think, which feels very weird the first time you use it, at least for me it did.

Lineage and Lineage 2 make up over 50% of the world's MMOG user base. Each game with over 2 million players (WoW is around 1.3 million, all of SOE's games put together are maybe 1 million).

So yeah, Lineage 2 is a monster. It's also REALLY simple with a barfy quest system and horrid tradeskilling. It does have a really nice engine (a modified unreal engine of some sort if I recall correctly) and no zoning. And for you cheapskates out there, there are plenty of free servers you can play on.

Seeing as you can get and play Lineage 2 completely for free, if you don't mind wasting the time you might as well try it. Also keep in mind most, if not all, of the real life violence related to MMOGs in Asia is because of Lineage 1 or 2.

Sounds pretty interesting.

Played open beta, sucked. While visually pleasing, the actual game so so monotonous and uninteresting. Nothing really keeps you wanting to play, at all.

chronicle 1 and 2 have added much to the game since beta, as i said you can solo your to lvl 40-50 but the game is very interesting IMO once you have the right group of classes together and make devestating damaging groups.

yea there were stories of people at lan centers getting assaulted by rival clan in real life....
