So I'm playing a little SP against bots and I land my Cobra to repair it. While I'm outside repairing it, bloody NVA soldier runs up and steals it, but apparently I was so close to the side that I got caught on it. Funny thing is, I didn't fall off and flew around on it for quite a long while.

You're suppose to be able to do that, at least you were in BF1942. There are stunt teams out there that release demos for these games. Anything from midair plane transfers, to jumping into a plane that flies by from the ground. Fun stuff...
