I've been recently going through my old Star Wars comic collection (there are no stores within a 20-mile radius of where i live, so i rarely get any. my collection is a total of 7 collected volumes). One aspect that's always confused me is the Ancient era stories (Exar Kun, Ulic Qel-Droma, ect...).
According to the appenix in the back of the colleced volume of "Star Wars: Dark Empire", the great Sith war (in which Setal and Aleema began the Krath in the Empress Tetta system and Exar Kun's body was destroyed amngst the ancient temples on Yavin IV) occured less than 700 years before "Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope". But according to the "Star Wars Tales of The Jedi" series, The Great Sith War occured some 4000 years before the film trillogy.
In addition to this discrepency, "Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic" has now been added to the mix, furthering the confusion.
So now the question remains: which timeline is true? and where does KotOR fit in?
