Mice with balls are better than optical mice for this; just take the ball out and put your finger on the x-axis roller, and flick it off as fast as possible.

The fastest I could get (with an optical mouse) is 411 mph.

Try right clicking on the far right of the screen (when you have the hand pulled over there). Then move your mouse to the far left and left click.
