Booze that you don't drink
2005-04-04, 8:41 AM #1
I personally won't touch malt liquor (the really cheap beer-like drink that comes in 40 oz bottles for < $2 each) Although its cheap and is way stronger than ordinary beer, I won't touch it b/c around here, it has a bad image b/c only alcoholics and unemployed people drink it. It might be different where you live, but here, it's regarded as a low-class drink.

i wont touch beer in anyway, hate Gin too.

Mixer drinks are awful, cola and vodka etc, awful.

I'd be more happy with a milkshake, a cuppa tea, and a cadburies cream egg/

Around here it's the Lucky 10, Big 10 and Wildcat 10 (all strong beers) that are the drink of choice for the lower-class. At $4 Canadian for a 40-oz, it'll get you feeling as good as a 6-pack.

But, for the same reason (image) I would never drink it. I seriously am not looking for the cheapest way to get drunk when I drink. I'm more of a social drinker. Give me a fine Hoegarden, Sleeman, or a Maudite.

I used to work in a corner store, and at 8 o'clock in the morning (the time that the law permits sale of alcohol), I'd have people waiting for me to unlock the beer fridge so they could get their morning 10% fix for $4.67. It's sad. What's even sadder is that most of these people were usually back for another one within an hour or two.

Don't do Cider, because it's a cheap Chav drink. I also don't drink really nice whisky, because I don't like the taste (my dad assures me I'll grow into it just as he did). I don't drink those grotty mudshake things, because they smell of sick, and I tend to avoid girly drinks, but if it's all that's on offer I'll lower myself to them...

Although I'm German I hate beer and "Jägermeister" and everything else that is bitter.

But I drink almost everything else.
Sorry for the lousy German

Beer and wine. I don't mind drinks or cocktails or absinthe.

I don't drink liquor much, i'd rather have a good cold beer so i can take a good 4-6 and extend them for a while before i start to feel the booze's effects. personally i like the taste of beer, but my beer of choice is usually Dry Black label or Molson dry.

of course, all microbrew stuff too.

Social drinking, I think, is a lot more fun than trying to get as wasted as possible, which is the path I see a lot of people where I live taking.

American beer. You know what they say, it's like sex in a canoe: ****ing close to water.

Jaegermeister. Good God - a capful of that stuff was enough to forever drive me away from it for good. Nastiest-tasting stuff I've had the misfortune to voluntarily ingest.

I tend not to drink beer anymore. Mainly because I don't go to keggers on campus like I use to. I prefer to just take shots of various liquors. You don't get that bloated feeling you get after drinking a crapload of beer.

I don't like Gin, Baileys, whisky, bitters, Guiness, dark ale or Tia Maria. There's some other stuff I don't like but which I could drink if mixed with certain other drinks.

I like most largers and alcopops. I love my Smirnoff vodca but dislike most others.

Frankly though I'd rather have Coca-Cola or Pepsi most of the time (maybe with a bit of vodca now and again :D )

I'll drink anything, although I stay away from Steel Reserve 40oz. Tastes like the vomit you'll eventually spew from drinking it.

Jägermeister

My favorite is Bailey's in my coffee or mixing it with the milk when I make a cappuccino.

So you wont drink it because of what people would think of you? There is nothing wrong with 40's... never played edward 40 hands?

I don't have a problem with 40 oz beers... I drink one of those every week.

It's just that malt liquor has this social stigma, and most people here associate it with bums, ghetto youth, and homeless people. Malt Liquor is pretty much the dregs of the american brews. If you drink it, it makes you look bad as opposed to drinking regular beer. They call 40 oz malt liquor "liquid crack" for a reason--it's the cheapest high you can get, and it gets you s***faced really fast.

if you want to get drunk for cheap, drink natural light.

I'll drink pretty much anything except red wine, which I hate alot.

I wanna try that new beer with Guarana, anyone know what it's called?

I stay away from any liqour that comes in a plastic bottle. I also won't go cheaper than the big name brand liqours like Jack Daniels, Bacardi, etc. I try to avoid the cheap standard beers as well.

I'll disagree with the novacain part, but yea, I love that stuff too. I love taking a shot of it, then pretend I'm breathing fire afterwards, it's beleiveable with the burn :)
I actually like the taste, but it does burn baby..
