Okay, "was" is used for describing singular a singular noun right? "Were" is used for plural nouns or "you"? If those rules are right, can you please explain why this is "were"?
"She was outfitted with a stylish black jacket; I wouldn't be surprised if she were packing some heat under there."
The "were" is modifying "she" right? But, isn't she singular; or am I'm forgetting another rule?
