So I just spoke to Levar Burton (Geordi LeForge from TNG)

As a some of you may or may not recall, I work for Apple computers as a Tech support technician.. Every so rarely I may get a call from a celebrity (jermaine dupris was my last one), anyways, today I was lucky enough to get Levar Burton.

This was the guy who played Geordi LeForge on Star Trek The NExt Generation (for the few who dont know off hand ;) )

Anyways, he gave me some info about a POSSIBLE next film in the TNG enterprise

Basically it went like this, he asked how I thought Nemesis was, which he said he thought himself was crap, I said I liked it, and he was surprised. I said it was sad that it was the last TNG film and I wished there was one last one, and he said something along the lines of this:

"Yeah, I feel like that too. I think most of us do. Most of us want one last flick, and we would like it to be sort of like, we KNOW this willbe the last TNG cast film ever. With Nemesis, we didn't know for certain, I mean, we had the suspicion, but it wasn't concrete. A lot of the guys and myself agree, we want one last one where we KNOW it's the last one, where we can go out with a bang so to speak"

I then told him about how I was sad to see data die, and he said (to the already knowing knowledge of many of you)

"Yeah, but you do know, there's literally tons of ways the guys writing the scripts already have to go around that and bring him back"

Yeah, he then took my address and he's sending me a personalized autographed picture in the mail. :)

A final TNG movie would be awesome. Part of the reason Star Trek VI was so great was because the Original Series cast knew for sure it would be their last movie together, so they really gave it everything they had, and had fun doing it.

That's great that some of the cast want it (there have been interviews with others on TNG who have said enough is enough).

I've heard from MULTIPLE sources though that there will be no more TNG movies, no matter how much its wanted. They just don't sell well in the theaters - and that equals no movie.

I want one too...:( Not this prequel movie that they're discussing

Dude you should've asked him about a Reading Rainbow movie!

A Reading Rainbow/TNG plot would be awesomer.

LOL so many people at work were telling me to ask him about Reading Rainbow... All he basically said was how he enjoyed being on it before, and how he liekd Toronto (I toldhim I lived there) a hell of a lot.

Basically, he's a really nice and down to earth guy.

Wofly, you're right, honest to god after that call, nothing could bring me down. It seriously made my day.

And then the captain just says; 'Make it so.'

There was a Reading Rainbow episode back when TNG still had new episodes airing, where he went to the TNG set and they showed all kinds of behind the scenes stuff. It was really cool.

Damn. I wish had people like him call me. All I get are techno-ignorant airheads :(

And yeah, there REALLY should be a final TNG movie. Nemesis left some open doors. And it just sucked.

Nope I dont mind if ya call me Temp. Lots of people abbreviate myname to that name, its actuallybecome a second internet nickname. :p

Genki - he called about his comptuer not allowing him to log in, all I really had to do was show him how to boot up to the OS X Install CD and run RESET PASSWORD from there. The rest of the call (waiting in between restarts, etc) he and i were conversing like normal people.

That's really cool. He was always a good role-model.

Yeah, i remember that. I thought it was cool, seeing how all the effects were done. Do they even show Reading Rainbow anymore? I haven't watched PBS for so long, I have no idea what shows are still on.

I remember that. That was during 1st season of TNG. It was, in the word of my coworker, "ill"

I remember seeing htat episode about a month or two after I started getting int TNG (my dad got me into it around the 3rd or 4th season). I was like DAD! Star Trek is on Reading Rainbow! They're showing how they do transporters!

Memories...

And oh yes...
They need...NEED another TNG movie. Nemesis was like "A Voyage Home..." It existed, but it wasn't great.

I don't understand... The guy can repair a warp core, no matter how badly damaged, as long as he has a few pieces of dilithium available... And he calls tech support?

This, if anything, proves that Mac OS is just as bad as Windows.

But it sure sounds like a really good day at work!

I REMEMBER THAT! Such a long time ago it seems.

And it's "LaForge", not "LeForge".

Star trek on a star wars forum?!? Blasphemy!

Anyways, cool....
nope.

This thread has made me giddy and I don't really know why. I'm not a big fan of Star Trek. Geordi did rock though, and so did Reading Rainbow. Cool!

Yeah, LeVar Burton is cool. Anyone see the "Star Trek" Episode of Weakest link? He was keen in that too.

If I'm not mistaken he's a director now, correct?

Nemises was a fantastic movie, period. I'm not much of a ST fan, but in the sense of movies, it was fantastic.

I really admire that guy. He was a fantastic rolemodel, as someone else said. All of us nerdy kids used to love him in grade school.

Insipid - He told me he owns his own production company. He owns about 50 Mac computers which he uses for his business.

Genki - If you only knew.....lol...The MAC OS Is a little more stable, but as far as compatibility and possible failures go, it's absolutely terrible.

I still haven't seen Nemesis, because they killed Data, which I consider a travesty (no disassemble!). I am completely for one last movie, as long as they bring him back. Data is the Spock of TNG, and they brought Spock back.

"data is the spock of TNG"

That's why killing him is a bad idea, it's just a rehash of ST2: Wratch of Khan.

What would be a really GOOD cliffhanger would be if Riker and Deanna both died together or something, just after being married. THAT's a better story.

Last I heard the next ST movie was prolly gonna have a new cast. I really hope that they decide to do one more TNG film first.

Enterprise E needs more screen time!...and it needs to be in my back yard.

They probably will. There's a big hint at such a thing at the end of the movie.
It's probably not going to be the original Data...
The crew found B4, an earlier android prototype -- this is who I suspect will be the 'next' Data, if they don't somehow bring the original back.

I'd really look forward to a final TNG movie :)
