It might fill up if you had a very large collection of lossless audio, but probably nowhere near half or a quarter of a TB. It's better used as a marketing tool, people never have to run out of space. Also it would make an incredibly good portable hard drive.

In the future, nanobots will be dancing in my veins with their own microscopic mp3 players. The mp3 players will contain hard drives so expansively large that they will contain more songs than have ever existed. By having access to more information than actually exists, the nanobots will be as omniscient as miniature gods. And they will be in me. I will be their metagod. Perpetual musical dancing nanobots will allow the metagods to escape linear time and exist beyond cause and effect. It will be beautiful. I hope they have a shuffle feature.
2005-04-05, 3:43 PM #22
In the future, I'll just replace all the cells in my body with nanobots, thus negating the need to eat, drink, sleep, etc. Each will have a quantum computer that is capable of storing more bits than there are atoms in the universe. And I will fill them all up with porn and warez.

But by filling your nanobots with objectifications of women (pornography) and objectifications of other rational beings (violence in video games [warez]) you will in turn become the metaobject instead of the metagod. My nanobots will not dance with you.

(I realize.. it's finally happened. I've read too many bad translations of Kant and the irregularly difficult locution has broken my brain. :( )

Yah, well my nanobots could beat up your nanobots.

My housemates are reading Kant - their brains are equally puddled.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Oh, but they're reading it in the German: they're doing language degrees...
2005-04-05, 4:19 PM #26
Ah, wish I could read German. It'd make things so much easier but my suffering is almost done anyway (moving on to another philosopher soon).

Here is a quote for those who are curious:

Goes on for a few hundred pages.
