Ok, this is the number 2 thread I've started of this type, but I just find it interesting that people who are getting paid to make these ads are getting away with such things. Saw this today while browsing Amazon.com

Hey, if it brings in a buck or a few billion, then Cingular is wise.

And you downloaded these. ADMIT IT!
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I'm not talking about the fact you can download these, I'm talking about the fact the spelled lightsaber wrong.

Oh, and actually, I didn't download them. I use T-Mobile. I have a motorola v300 and can connect to my PC to upload my own backgrounds, so why download?

HOWEVER, the fact that it's spelled wrong could be a good way to get suck people in, so you never know.

EXACTLY. I have the same phone but I just upload my stuff to my wap site because I have unlimited data usage. I'm gonna pick up the cable soon, though, I've only had my phone for a couple of weeks now.

Oook, so when you have a SW background on your phone, you magically start wearing Vaders helmet or pop into Leia's dress?

Perhaps I should explain Luke's lightsaver..... You see, Luke Skywalker has a special watch that has 65 second ticks per minute from 6 AM to 6 PM and only 55 ticks per minute between 6 PM and 6AM. That way he's getting an extra hour of daylight time and reducing night time by an hour. This watch is known as a "Lightsaver". Don't you read the EU?

On the German AotC-DVD they wrote "Angrief der Klonkrieger". In English that would be something like "Ataak of the Clones". And on the back they wrote Joda instead of Yoda. Sometimes I really wonder who checks the spelling on these things...
Sorry for the lousy German

In German, "Joda" is pronouced like yoda. The J makes a Y sound. Like they pronouce it "yah" but spell it as "ja" etc.

It's still nowhere near as bad as trying to write Russian using our alphabet or English using Cyrillic (sp? the Russian alphabet). Luke Skywalker = Lyk Ckaubalkep.

I know but on the same DVD they also write the name with a Y. And it has always been written with a Y here.

I despise this sort of thing. A phone is just a dull, functional item for use in contacting other people. I'll never understand the compulsion that people feel to have it tarted up with glittery casings and annoying ringtones. To me, it represents a generation of bored kids with too much pocket money.

Indeed, AKPiggott. Ringtones have their place for identifying your phone, but I'd only choose something distinct and not annoying. Infact I might choose something totally unappropriate, like a Hartman quote from FMJ. "I will GOUGE out your eyeballs and SKULL F*** YOU!" over and over till you answer it. Hee. I used that one once for my alarm clock on my computer rigged to my roomate's speakers, it woke up adjacent rooms.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the original scripts and the ANH novel spelled it 'lightsabre'.

If the ppl who make those ads are SW fans, that must really be embarrassing... to mispell one of the fundamental elements of the movies... unless they did it on purpose -- in that case, DIE!

Also...

A good Imperial March ringtone > *

Andrew Jackson wasn't around before the dark times...before teh.

You guys know that just because they make this stuff, doesn't mean that all SW geeks are actually using it... Paying for ringtones and whatnot is a waste of money.

At least I hope not that many are shelling out for it.
