I was going through some old stuff

I came across an old Sega Visions magazine from April/May of 1994, and it has a game feature for Rebel Assault. Man it really looks like crap.

One part I really love is a box with 4 screenshots titled "Vader Destroys Alderone" and in the captions of the pics it says "Vader orders an attack on Alderone, Princess Leia's home planet." with a picture of Vader in his life support chamber.

Then "The Death Star fires on Alderone." with the green beam coming out of the Deathstar. "Alderone takes the beam from the Death Star." with... AlderAAN taking the beam from the DS.

And the final picture with Alderaan nothing but a fireball, "Wonder why they call it a Death Star? The space dust you see is what remains of Alderone."

The editors were clearly not SW fans I guess.

Rebel Assault was an awesome game when it first came out. By the time the sequel came out, computers were good enough that they could have done away with the "fixed track" gameplay style, but it was still fun to play anyways. That one level in RAII stole the hud from Dark Forces, too.

I remember Rebel Assault... I'm not sure what version I had or what happened to it, but I know the opening sequence had the camera take the POV of a mousebot as it wheeled past people and eventually ending up in Vaders command room or whatever. I used to love that game, never did get far though.

I beat it on the hardest difficulty... with a mouse. Quite a lesson in patience. It took me several months I think. Wonder if I could get that to run on Windows XP... I doubt it.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Lassev: I guess there was something captivating in savagery, because I liked it.

I had Rebel Assault II. That was a pretty cool game at the time.
"Flowers and a landscape were the only attractions here. And so, as there was no good reason for coming, nobody came."

Rebel Assault II was cool because it had live action stuff. The story wasn't too shabby either.

That was Rebel Assault II. And yeah, that opening sequence was pretty cool.
