"Let's buy a house! Oooh, this one's nice. Oh noes, I'm going insane. Bye."

It all seems too much like a bad piece of fanfiction.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Don't really care if it's real or not - it's the first horror movie I've wanted to see in a long time with any expectations of it being good. Haven't seen the original, don't care to.
the idiot is the person who follows the idiot and your not following me your insulting me your following the path of a idiot so that makes you the idiot - LC Tusken

The movie looks like garbage, we'll see. I mean the original THREE were ALL crap, I don't expect the new movie to be any better....but we will indeed see.
Think while it's still legal.

off one of the hoax or fact sites...

"The real truth was eventually uncovered................

The Lutzes were apparently unhappy about living in a house after all those murders had been committed. They decided to abandon it and go live with a relative for a while to think about their situation. The relative suggested to them that they could expand on their "bad feelings" and make it into a really good ghost story.

The Lutzes then met with William Weber seeking more information about the murders and what went on in the house. William was about to write a book about the murders. He had an idea to add the Lutzes feelings into his book and discussed doing this with them. He showed them pictures and gave them all the information they needed about the crime scene.

Shortly after this meeting was when the Lutzes first went public with their haunting story. Weber went along with it all at first but got disillusioned with it all when the stories started getting more and more exaggerated, he then backed out of the entire thing.

Weber still wanted to write his book on the murders but the Lutzes beat him to it with their own book.

The real Amityville house is still standing. A family is still living in there with no poltergeists or ghosts to complain of. The house was located at 112 Ocean Avenue, Amityville, but the number has been changed. It has been repainted and the windows at the top of the house (the ones that used to glow red) are replaced with different shaped ones. The owners try their best to disguise the house from the tourists, but I suspect nothing will ever stop the tourists from wanting to have a look at the house."

ugh...I can't stand gory movies. I cried after seeing the Texas Chainsaw Massacre...movies like that just upset me (that and it was the first movie my bf of 5 months (at the time) took me to see....so much for romance.) um...other than that probably not going to see it. Just not into movies like this....If I do end up seeing it I just hope Ryan Reynolds will actually act...I've only seen him in Blade: Trinity.....and yeah...

it seems they are sticking close to the original... The main guy in the original actually looked like Van Wilder.. (hmm).. and there are scenes in the new trailer that were in the orginal movie (closet scene etc.) The part that concersns me is the "new revamped" fly scene.. where the priest is looking into the vent and is BLASTED backwards by loads of flies.. this seems REALLY stupid in the trailer and seems like somthing hollywood will add to ruin this movie that has the ability to be a good horror movie... well.. atleast it is rated R

But, as I said in the Sin City thread, the gore was kind of masked by the way it was filmed. And, in a way, I didn't see it as needless gore :P At least there was a story going on.
