Buying memory, need help

Yea, I'm looking to buy a stick of 1GB PC2700 RAM, however, I don't wanna end up buying some really chinsey stuff and just having it die in like a week, or not be compatible with my new motherboard at all. Pricewatch has 1GB of PC2700 listed for like $100, but the compatibility is pathetic. I saw Mistubishi RAM for $125, is that decent enough? Anyway, I need something that is compatible with an ASUS A7N8X-X motherboard which I believes run a nForce2 chipset, preferably 1GB under $150.

If it's the right speed, it is compatible...

There's specifically some dealers that say "not compatible with AMD or Intel chipsets" which is like... everything. Others that say not compatible with certain chipsets (KT400, KT600 etc.)

I believe the chipset refers to the motherboard chipset (nForce, VIA, SIS, Intel...etc.) rather than the processor.. however i wasnt aware AMD produced a chipset.

Wrong. I accidently ordered unbuffered ram which wouldn't work with my motherboard at all. I had to return it for buffered ram.
