CNN.com has this story about, yep, Microsoft releasing new software to allow downloaders to 'rent' movies or/and music, and have that media expire after a certain length of rental time. It claims to even prevent burning that media I guess... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

There is no substitute for renting dvds, ripping the vobs, and then converting the vobs to avis with divx.

It's ironic. DVD's are easily ripped these days, as much as CD's. but did you ever see audio CD's for rent?

Yeah,. but libraries around here don't make you pay for each cd rent. you pay once.

it makes less money than the renting business, that's what's ironic.
