I dislike vampire-y RPs, but I am a serious RPer.

I also dislike 'rules' that go beyond "Don't cheesewiz", this includes money and a combat system with die rolls. I only go with this if it's a table top game :P

It's based on a tabletop game, Vampire: The Masquerade. Trust me, this game is the bones, and if this community is any good, this will be my new favorite IRC server.

Believe me, coming from someone who's been doing freeform RP for upwards of eight years now, when dealing with a large group of people, you pretty much need some sort of ruleset. when you're playing with a small, private group, it's not as much of an issue, but when you start hitting 15+ people at once, if you don't have any sort of core system or ruleset, everything goes to hell very, very quickly.

Having a rule base is a must for a large chat or forum based RPG. A good example of why you need them is the old SWG RP board. People were jumping into space battles with fleets of Star Destroyers, Mon Cal cruisers, and even Sun Crushers. People were making new types of uber ships left and right. Seriously, it was utterly ridiculous.
