Hey,

I've asked stuff fromy ou guys before and always had good help, so im calling on Massassi again.

I'm recently considering buying some subwoofers for my computer. I want something that will remind me of my car when I had it ;)

I realise you cant get anything THAT powerful, but just so you know, I've searched around and can only find cheap ones

Keep in mind, that I am looking for CANADIAN funds, not american, which means looking for Canadian stores. I tried futureshop.ca and they had nothin.

My price range is $100-200 CAN

You might want to look into ones that are more for stereo systems than computers. For that price you could probably get something relatively large.

Subwoofers are actually a great addition to any computer, especially for gaming or listening to music, not a big one that
overshadows the speakers, but one that merely enhaces the environment. A demon that is coming right at you is even scarier when you can actually feel it in your body.

I've got me some logitech Z3e's, and the sound/bass on them are amazingly good, especially for gaming (voted the #1 gaming 2.1 system by some site loosely affiliated with hardocp). More powerful bass too.

Can't really find any subwoofers for ya :\

The 170 W Klipsch Promedia subwoofer is insane. I love mine. =)

Are the4se the closest to a nice car stereo? Around the equivalent of something of 400 wats?

On second thought, that one posted above, the 170 W Klipsch Promedia one, looks nice. Something around that, but lesser price. Around $100-200

I hate you for having them.

I saw a set in Best Buy awhile back, and while I couldn't hear them perfectly (you know how Best Buy is) I instantly wanted them. They seem to pretty much trample my Z640s. Plus Klipsch is just a good name. I don't think I've ever heard of them releasing a product that sucked all around.

It all depends on if you want good sound or authentically good sound. That is, sound that is actually good, not rated good by some gaming site that doesn't know the first thing about audio.

All I want is bass. I could care less about sound quality, becasue I already ahve materials for that. I just want bass.

What all else do you already have?

I've got enough good speakers around taht can be hooked into computers. Basicallythe point ofwhat I was trying to say, is all I care about right now is Bass. I don't care about anything else, and dont want to buy anything else unless you absolutely have to (meaning it comes in a package form only), I just want bass. The treble is taken care of.

So you have good speakers that already hook up to a computer?

Where, exactly, are you planning on hooking up the subwoofer?

I believe he will simply run a double adapter out of the front channels on his sound card and plug the sub upto that.

My suggestion is to run a CAR sub and amp. Buy a 12 volt power supply (This is the most expensive part as you want one that will output between 20 and 60 amperes, but this depends on the amp you get). Get a 2 channel car amp and a sub. Plug the amp into the computer using a stereo too two RCA's convertor. Then bridge the sub accross the two amp channels.

Maybe you should look into buying something better than computer speakers, unless you're into that bloated, flabby bass.

By the way, if anyone wants some Klipsch Promedia GMX 2.1 speakers, I'll let them go for reasonably cheap. I stopped using them once I started to use some Athena bookshelf speakers with my PC.

This is getting too complicated.. I thought you could just buy a subwoofer kinda souped up a little bit like the ones they offer in packages with computers nowadays. My gf got a crap one with her crap dell, but it's still decent bass. Anything a little harder than that would definately do.

Yeah, I'd jump all over that, but after going 5.1, there's no WAY I'm going back.
