ok i had a suden erge to find out what the weapons in this pic are because they were pritty cool in the movie (resident evil apocalypse)

anyone know what they are?
The keyboard is mightier than the ion cannon.

Martyn pretty much cleared it up, although I perfer the ones from Blade 2 with the taser-like effects.

Edit:Actually, upon closer inspection, they do look more like batons.

Yeah, they're blunt tsais without the two points on either side, or they can be um, a katana that has been shaved till it looks like a batton.

How could they be Sais? Sais are pronged, the things in the pics are just telescopic metal sticks. aka BATONS.

They are retractable batons, as everyone else has mentioned. If you look close, especially on the one in her right hand, you can see the "layers" (if you will) of the baton. (like a radio antenna, or the toy lightsabers)
