A few days ago, after camping the video spawn at the local blockbuster for a few weeks until it was actually in, a couple friends and i finally got our hands on Red Riding Hood, which based upon the description and the vaguely-predatorian mask on the front looked grand.

Unfortunately one of my friends gave up and left about 10 minutes into the movie, and the other one gave up and started playing on his laptop for the rest of it.
Meanwhile i was absolutely rapt with fascination and fiendish delight, interspersed with a bit of cackling, and seat-edgeing. It's dark, it's macabre, it's twisted, it's intricate and wicked.
For what the movie was, i thought it was genius, the acting which apparently everyone else hated i thought worked very well for it actually [much as Keanu Reeves was very well suited for his role in the first Matrix movie], the plotting and conspiring and executions of said plots were brilliant bloody and beautiful. And the conclusion of it all is just so.. well, you'd really have to see it on your own to enjoy it all.
Apparently, however, my sister [who saw it an an entirely unrelated occasion] and myself seem to be the only two people on earth who didn't absolutely hate it and think it was the worst thing ever; in fact we both enjoyed it immensely.
So, all i can do is highly recommend it be watched, but most importantly don't believe anything the critics say about it, just enjoy it for what it is.
