If you have already read the front page, then you don't need to read this, it is simply a reiteration of what is there. This is just for those of you who don't check the front page, and for those who have questions.

Now that the Editors Corner now is online again, I want to remind you all that used the Image Corner that the Image Corner is for NON-EDITING RELATED images only! Due to the previous problems with the Editors Corner, the admins of the IC were willing to waive this rule, but now that the EC has returned, the admins of the IC (Me, Cavey, and Pommy) wish that you would return to using the EC for your editing related images. It's faster too, so its a win/win situation.

I'll be giving everyone who currently is using editing related images a week of leeway before I will begin contacting folks breaking the rules. And also, if you have a problem with the IC, please make sure you e-mail CoolMatty and not the staff. The IC is not part of Massassi, but the EC is. So keep all IC questions for the IC admins, and all EC questions for the Massassi Staff. Thank you.

Feel free to ask any questions right here and I'll try and answer them, but I think it is pretty straightforward. EC is for EDITING IMAGES. IC is for NON-EDITING IMAGES. You have a week to fix it, for those who are still using the IC. After that, I'll be emailing the account holders.

Why does it matter?

Simply put, the editors corner is faster, and most of the images on the IC currently are large showcase thread images. Now because the EC was down before, I didn't care. But now that it has returned, I want people to return to using the EC. This will benefit everyone, since the editors corner is faster, and plus, by using the IC less, it too will go faster. I think that is the best way to explain it. As I said before, feel free to ask any questions here.

I'd rather you don't. The IC is for the Massassi Forums only. If I were to allow the IC to expand to other places, the bandwith for the IC would die, and thus so would the site.

And I can't just say, "Well, you're a good friend, so you are okay". That is making special cases, and that always gets hairy and weakens the infrastructure.

I've tried the EC for editing pics, and it works terribly, for me at least. I MUCH prefer the IC for such, but I guess I'll have to stop using it now. You see, I have all my images in 800x600 and in jpg, and the thing still won't accept them - each pic has to be less than 100 kbs, which is crazy. At the smallest, my images are about 150 kbs. How do I work around that? If i shrink them anymore, the picture quality looks really terrible?

Two questions.
(1) I've looked over and over and I can't find this info. Is there a limit on the # of images you can host on the EC at one time? Not that I have that many, but I'm just curious...
(2) For the IC. I've got a wierd situation, which might have been caused by deletion of images in my account. You know how when you u/l images onto the IC it'll increment 1.jpg, 2.jpg... well, now my account starts with 2.jpg. I can still host 8 pics at a time, but this is just kinda wierd.
[edit: I deleted all my IC pics (mostly showcase stuff) earlier today, and I just added a new image. Now it's starting at 3 instead of 2]

You can put as many images on EC as you want, but they get cleared every so often (when we run out of disk space), so it shouldn't be considered a "permanent" solution.
