The rants on that second link are hilarious!

Quote:
This 400 year-old Ford truck has water in the radiator, oil in the crankcase, gas in the tank, the battery is charged, and it starts on the first try! OK, lets give the writers the benefit of the doubt and say the truck has NOT been floating in space for 400 years, maybe the aliens kept it in suspended animation until they were destroyed "fifteen generations" ago. It's still been up there far too long to work. The oil will all sublime into space and vacuum welding should have frozen all the moving parts. Even if for some reason an alien race had kept the truck in stasis since 1937, and just barely dumped it into space 30 minutes before Voyager came along, the water in the battery and the gasoline in the tank will boil out in a matter of minutes. But wait- how did that truck get there, anyway? The aliens dropped it? Woops, I just accidentally dropped a truck out of the shuttle bay. I hate it when that happens!

All I'm going to say about that is that spyware crap was not aimed at source code, it was made by a "friend" of my brother so that when both computers were online he could take control of the comp and steal our credit card numbers. Now if only mc-afee would test the things that come in password protected zips, the good thing is that we caught him, and now he's on the run, and the MMORPG still goes on. There ya heve it.

So you ran a zip file from an untrusted source on a system with critical and apparently not-backed up material...

In which case, if you did that, you deserve what happened to you, for making such a stupid move.

However, if it was ran by someone else, it's still your fault for not properly protecting your computer.

And lastly, no one believes you.

Ummm no, my brother did, and he's like some sort of IDIOT! any how, why the heck should we back up something that is non-profit, and always will be.

Oh matty, decent people should not have the need for protection, I've had like 2 viruses in the last oh umm, 7 years, plus this spyware crap, so I don't think so.
Nothing to see here, move along.

And you know what could've stopped those two viruses and all that spyware?

Oh yeah....protection like Firefox, AntiVirus programs, and spyware programs

I've had 0 viruses in the past ... forever. But that doesn't matter. I still have virus protection. And the fact that you have spyware at all informs me that you don't know enough to be making any sort of MMO.

Like I said, I don't believe you, and from what everyone else has said here, neither do they.

My comptuer detects everything that comes in, if it makes it in at all. I've never had a problem.
