Okay - I've got SpyKiller 2004 running, it doesn't pick anything up. Then I run Ad-Aware, it picks up one file. It says it cannot delete this file without a restart. I tell it to do the delete and the restart. I boot back up, and the file is still there.

Name of file: ak3api.cpy.dll UMonitor
Question: What is it, and how do I get rid of it if I need to?

Try Spybot: Search and Destroy. It might get rid of it. Also, try closing your browser before you delete. A lot of spyware gets attached to browser files and can't be deleted with the browser running.

Sometimes you have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete, and get the spy-program to end it's task before it can be deleted.

Boot into command prompt and delete it manually. The quickest method of removal.

You shouldnt be running anything but Ad-Aware and Spybot to remove spyware, and if those dont work, than you should try CWShredder. There are "spyware removal programs" at there that actually install spyware.
