those that do, can you suggest an ineresting station that will not buffer every two seconds on a 56k connection.

... Try listening to one that streams lower than 56k, and not higher.

are there any non adult winamp tv broadcasts that have a reasonably low bitrate that are interesting?

Whenever I use it, I listen to SomaFM, an Indie-Pop station. I'm pretty sure that it works on 56k, if you listen to the lower quality version of it.

TV broadcasts will NOT work over 56k, it just isn't going to happen. Get broadband if you want that.

I listen to the three Gaming FM stations, which are selections from various video games, depending on which station you're listening to.

Meh the only thing I use Winamp Radio for is the adult web broadcasting stations...
