Combine Metrocop costume
2005-04-23, 3:33 AM #1
A while ago I was given a gasmask which looks shockingly quite a bit like the masks that the metropolice in half-life 2 use. I love the metrocops and I've been wanting to make a costume. Now I really want to do it.

Any ideas on to how to make the neckplate bit behind the mask itself would be appreciated. but right now I'm looking for a place to get a voice modulator that would allow myself to sound like the distorted voice of a metrocop.

(I could probably use a cheap walkie talky for a radio in the mask. modifying it somehow so it would play the little combine *bliple* sound that follows transmissions)

the rest of the costume really is just a matter of finding the right materials, sowing them together, etc.

not sure what to do about the stunstick either, any suggestions for that? perhaps some hardware parts might do like a lot of people do to build lightsabers and such.

Also any ideas for other costumes from the game are welcome, like the soldiers, elites, and maybe even the HEV suit.

(go go gadget google image search)

That costume is cheasy looking. (AKA Bump for you Ober, I don't know anything about costume building. Spiral might be of some use?)

The ear things look like the bottoms of soda cans.

The back part, you might be able to do out of vacuum plastic.

Anyone think the mask is made out of a solid material like plastic? Jovan thinks so.
it looks like its made out of rubber to me. But several things point that its more of a solid faceplate that latches into the backplate.

(Thanks for thinking of me. Kirb. :D )

Load up the bit where Barney takes of his mask in the first chapter to make sure?
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.
