  Woah, looks .. interesting. That would be weird, a star wars series. I dunno, it would just be so weird.

Sounds good to me, although it could ruin part of the series in a way, I have mixed feelings... I think that a series after Jedi would be good myself, having characters from different games/books. Kyle maybe...
nope.

That's still old news. But I'd still rather see a series where the Empire won the Endor battle and continued to rock on.

Interesting. I'd like to see a non-Jedi story line, and form the sounds of it, it'll be something along the lines of the start of the Rebellion.

I'll be happy as long as

1- it's all new characters

2- Lucas doesn't use this as another opportunity to crap on the EU.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

I'm with that freaky dude. This will probably be crap.

And a non-Jedi story is pretty much non-Star Wars.

There's a lot to the Star Wars universe besides a few jedi.

Vader better be in the show, or at least guest star in it every now and then.

er... well... without him the EU wouldnt exist. it's his universe, he can do what he wishes. i guess that wont stop people from hating him though.

I don't want Lucas a part of this director wise. His director-skills suck, IMO. At least they make for far less entertaining movies. Yes, I do know he did ANH. There's a reason it's just above EP's I and II on my list.

Lucas is a good director he just needs work on his scripts.

I would like to see something similar to Band of Brothers except with Rebel or Imperial pilots.
2005-04-25, 5:29 PM #17
Agreed, it would be sweet to have a SW band of brothers (maybe with some of the last Jedi)

And Vader. If there is no Vader and Palpatine, I will die.

I want a story about..... A Han Solo-esque character. Maybe a brief brush with vader or the Empire, but a major focus on provincial stuff like smuggling, crime lords, etc. A Nar Shadaa type situation. Eh?
2005-04-25, 6:36 PM #19
Wasnt there going to be a good writer related with this?

I'd like to see a series on the...crap, you're going to eat me alive for the spelling errors, but the yuuhzong vong invasions, and after return of the jedi.

Also, I'd LOVE to see inside the smuggler's part of the galaxy, all the shady things and such, maybe the Maw cluster...

They really need to start making movies out of the books. =)

As far as I'm concerned, the only books that would work well as a movie/TV series is the X-Wing series of books.

I think this is a great idea! I claim all the people who say it's a bad idea are letting fear govern their lives. If they are so badly frightened, they could just skip the series. If there's 1% chance the series will be great, we haven't lost anything (and I personally think the chance is a lot higher, in reality).

Whether we see Vader or Palpatine depends on the level of things the series will focus on. You can't really expect to see the Emperor if it tells about some lone individuals like rebel fighters or smugglers. It's not like the Emperor would frequent rundown bars or rebel hideouts... Seeing Vader's stardestroyer a few times during the series would be much more realistic, in fact. If Jedi are involved, seeing Vader himself could be possible.

Sounds good to me.

I am skeptical about this show, though. Maybe Lucas realizes that he won't have a source of income (okay, take that back, he will make money as long as the Star Wars is well known) after Episode 3. May as well start a TV show!

Half-hour isn't too long, though. It's good for a sit-com, but not probably for what he wants.

I have a feeling that it will be something about vader hunting down all those jedi and destroying them.

A star wars sitcom..? Didn't they do something of the sort with chewbacca's family a long while back..?

"How were the kessel space mines today?"

"Oh, horrible. The slaves and prisoners got ahold of a ton of glitterstim and were all over the place, how has your day been?"

"Worse then a pile of rotting jawas! First the R5 unit catches on fire and wouldn't stop making this horrible 'WHOOOOOOAAAAAA" sound, then the tuskans tried to do the funky chicken in the city square again!"

Heh heh.

I would think that it wouldn't focus that much on the rebellion or the empire due to the extensive 'coverage' already out there.

It WOULD probably have some run-ins, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a smuggler's point of view that ends up in deep doo doo because he peeved off some local imperial officer...

Heh heh, I'll stop typing now..

I was able to see Lucas at the first of his three appearances (had to camp outside at 4 AM in the cold and rain to get in, but hell, it was worth it. more on that later), he only had 20 minutes per appearance so we didn't get to hear much (and there were stormtroopers walking around making sure no one was recording, so I don't have a video of it, but we were allowed to take pictures), but he confirmed the rumors of a Star Wars TV show, and announcing that there's actually going to be two of them; A weekly, half-hour CG-animated series, which I believe he said was a continuation of the clone wars series, but I'm not positive. It sounded like it was pretty well laid out already, so I would expect to hear more about it soon. The second series would start filming in about a year, and will be a live-action spinoff, though not dealing directly with the heroes from the movies (here's hoping for an X-Wing series). He said that he would be in charge of it for the first season to get things set up, but after it got going he wanted to step back and had it off to someone else.
