It seems that the US government made another promise it is coming back to bite it in the keester. The date on which TV stations are supposed to stop broadcasting in analog is sneaking up faster than expected. Article!

I don't watch TV anyway..and if/when I buy another, it'll be a widescreen HDTV, so I shouldn't have to worry about too much.. :p

All I watch is the Daily Show, The Simpsons and Family Guy are available through BitTorrent if TV dies.

Umm, so let me get this straight, congress wanna take away your tv receptions? Ha! You people need something like the freeview boxes we have over here. £30 for a decent box, plug it in, and we get digital reception without a monthly fee through the box.

thats exactly what they're going to do, although the boxes are supposed to be ~100$

Ours were supposed to be £80+ but you can get good ones for £30. Mine is great, it has about 40 channels.

Freeview is great in the UK, friend at university has it...

got sky at home so hardly ever use normal analogue any longer, personally I get most of my news from the net.

they just want to free up the frequences for mobile phones, enable more information to be transmitted than is currently possible.

what with WiMax now available do we even need to?
People of our generation should not be subjected to mornings.
