Recently I attended the SNAPL (Students Networked Against Packet Loss) LAN hosted by a bunch of UAH students at a local civic center. It was freakin awesome--got 2 t-shirts, a redhat and newegg t-shirt, and tons of bawls, along with much playage of the games and whatnot. Here's the pics to prove it!

<_< >_>

Yay! Post your lan experiences, and/or pictures.

Get a haircut, you hippie! Mine's even longer >.>

I've got the 40-man SLAN coming up May 21st. Some of the local computer places are sponsoring, I've heard they may be some good stuff up for grabs.

Usually during school breaks we have 4-6 man LANs at my place, get ****ing trashed and play CS until 8 the next morning. Great stuff. :D

*sigh*

I've never had any kind of remotely similar experience...

I'm such a boring person...

But hey, plain old vanilla's not always that bad.

BTW Sounds like it was fun, glad you enjoyed it.

Oh yeah, forgot to post some of the specifics.

Up for grabs was a brand new dell. Not an impressive machine, but a good machine, and free! That was UT2k4. Q3 was a Dell Axim X50, and Desert Combat was 1gb of PC3200 Kingston HyperX I think. It was good RAM iirc.

There were a couple other prizes, but they weren't really all that. More of a bag of chips.

From 6-6 is how long I gamed, it lasted a few hours longer though. There was one guy who was there longer than me, and played Sims 2 the entire time. And a few blasphemous bastages who brought laptops, Halo, and X-Box controllers. Bleh.

Also, there were quite a few linux users, and one guy who just had debian on his system (the rest were dual booted for compatibility).

I have an Xbox Lan planned for the first weekend in May. Halo, Halo 2, Ghost Recon, Unreal Championship 2. All day, at least 12 people.

I'm going to have a very crowded house and a LOT of rearranging of furniture to do beforehand and afterwards.

The last two I did recently were smaller (6 people) and a load of fun. Double can only mean more.

Yeah, but that was PCs. And I BARELY have enough room in my house for 12 people, let alone 120. ;)

I can't seem to play video games beyond 3 hrs. straight . . .

As for LANing, I attended a governor's school for info technology and we played CS LAN from 10 - 12 on weekdays, 11 - 1 on weekends, for 4 straight weeks. Sooo much fun!

Although I would have preferred to play Enemy Territory LAN . . .

It's easy. Very, very, easy. Especially when you're playing with good people and have a variety of gametypes setup.

At my last one we went for about 9 hours straight and played CTF, Assault, Team Slayer, King of the Hill (this was INSANE), and Juggernaut. All of which involved massive amounts of taunting between rooms and shouts of victory and dismay.

I like Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. It is hot and fun to play.

A good eight people play Doom and Doom II over our school networks at lunchtimes. Fun.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.
