Also, something I just thought of. Is it possible to nerf your character so that the game becomes far too difficult or impossible? I'm focusing on hacking right now, but I plan to bring psi and weapons up too (still focusing on hacking though). Good idea? I don't mind experimentation as long as I'm not gonna cripple myself later so let me know if it's possible

I heard it was a good game, man I should get this game just for coop. I love coop gametype.

FUN game, but I can't tell you about the nerfage.

Try and specialise your character instead of being able to use a lot of different initial weapons and never getting to wield the heavy firepower. My character was a Navy hacker-modifier, specialised with standard weapons and some of the fun exotic ones towards the later bit. Assault-rifle = fuuun.

If you feel like you have plenty of cyber-modules and are just splurging them on everything, then there will be times when your budget will be feeling quite tight soon. I know how tempting it can be to want to get your hands on every weapon that you find

I just got it to run on XP using the XP/2K patch, it's been running perfectly. I've been focusing on psi powers this game. Anti-entropy is the most useful yet, it makes it so while it's on, your ranged weapons do not degrade or get damaged. Also, I can't seem to charge up any psi powers. I have a few on each tier up to tier 3, and none of them seem to respond to charging. No difference in damage or effect and no difference in drain on psi.

It would be hella fun to play as a complete soldier, focusing only on weapon and a few tech skills. Then you can use all the badass weapons like that fusion gun thing, grenade launcher, EMP rifle and the other exotic weapons. I've only used the pistol, shotgun, laser pistol and assault rifle I think, this is my second time playing all the way through the game. Psi powers work great on organic creatures, pyrokenesis owns...immense damage.

Oh, and yes, I'd love to get a co-op game going. Myself, Agent J and Spider_AL tried it a few years back, we didn't get very far. But if we set it up carefully it should go smooth. With three people you generally want to have one hacker/repair tech guy, one guy doing a complete soldier path, and I suppose a psi junkie.

Co-op is fun - though when I tried it with some friends at a lan we had one hell of a time getting it working in the first place, and for a while keeping it synched.

Was all worth it in the end when a friend was killed in seconds by a single monkey. He awoke the next morning to a 12 Monkeys desktop and Guybrush Threepwoods "Monkey in my pocket".


I've yet to find ANYONE who actually used that laser rapier more than once.

I've played coop before with kak, Muurn, Ish, and Super (nat all at the same time) and to tell you the truth it's really nothing to call home about. Single player is where it shines.

On a side note is the Far Cry coop mod any good?

...you're kidding right? In a game where ammo is generally scarce, melee weapons are crucial, and the laser rapier is the second best.

How long is it between getting the rapier, and being able to use the crystal shard though? I can't remember.

I must reinstall that after exams are done, I need some more brown trousers...

I take it Crystal Shard > Laser Rapier? I'm using the Crystal Shard right now. I have the minimum requirements for it, I'm spending the rest of my modules on psi.

The crystal shard is the best melee weapon.
