IGN Just put up their site for the XBOX 360...

They have a gallery of pics from games....

FREAKING AMAZING!

360 Site:
http://xbox360.ign.com/

Article:
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/608/608250p1.html

Screen gallery:
http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/744/744413/imgs_1.html

Hopefully none of it's insider content... as far as I know it's not.

[Edit]
Okay, so I'm not too bright right now...

IGN has also launched their PS3 site as well, which has the exact same pics, and article, so which system the pics are from seem a bit unknown to me

Okay, you see, NOW I'm impressed.

And rumor is that the PS3 is WAY more powerful than that. Great Googely Moogely.

Hmm. The car models are superb. I suppose that's because the game is able to take full capability of the R500 in it. The NPC modles are close to HL2's, a nice Improvement. No more jaggies that's nice too. The textures are dissapointing though. I suspect that's cause they didn't put enough RAM in there. Still, no more crappy PC game graphics because the game has to also be made for the Xbox and PS 2. It's too bad that most people will be playing this on a regular TV. It would be neat if the controlers slots worked via USB wouldn't it?

EDIT: I guess the textures aren't that bad, looking at them again. Just bit underwhelming compared to the car models.

Look at the other game's screen shots. They don't look nearly as good. I wonder if these were pre-rendered.

This can't be a game. No. I refuse.

I want to see this one an actual TV most people will play on before I have an orgasm in my pants.

I remember everyone going gah gah over the screenshots released for Rogue Squadron for N64 when it was first released. It looked amazing in still computer frame shots. But once in action, it's quality went down.

****! ****! Holy ****ing mother of all that is jesus ***** ****ing holy ****ing **** **** ***** *** ******* ****ing Jesus!!

I don't even want to know what video games will look like when I'm 80 years old. This is ****ing insane! INSANE! AND TO THINK! GRAPHICS HAVE PROGRESSED FROM MARIO TO THIS IN ONLY 20 YEARS! WTF! Our kids will look at games like asteroids and space invaders and wonder how the hell we ever managed with those graphics! It just boggles me mind.

P.S. If those are renders I'm gonna feel really stupid.

If those aren't renders, then they were specifically made for these screenshots, because you can see that there's nothing behind the viewer in the second shot Zell posted by the reflection of the tanker.

And it's still beyond me why anyone would spend so much time on pretty graphics when the vast majority of users will be youngsters who A. don't appreciate just how good the graphics are and B. are playing on a TV, which fudges it all up anyway.

And this is why developers are saying the new generation of hardware is too soon. The costs and time it will take to develop a game of this caliber is huge and so expensive now. There was a good interview in a magazine with a developer talking about stuff like this. I can't remember the magazine though

For some reason, those screenies remind me of some of the old claymation cartoons that I used to watch when I was little. It looks alright, but I'm not terribly convinced.

Besides, I think John Dvorak is right. Graphics will only take a game so far. New ideas for games have to be presented sometime.
