It's not a big deal.. you'll just pretty much be out of commission for about 3 days.

I remember I got to go straight from my morning Alegrba exam to get them pulled. My advice: follow the directions they give you afterwards to the letter. You don't want to get dry sockets.

You too? Actually, the first day I was out of it because of they gave me really strong painkillers, other than that - it was nothing. They didn't knock me out completely to do it, like all my friends...they just used that gas stuff and out came the teeth. It was amusing, they lost one tooth in my hair and had to find it. The best part is you get to play with the stitches :) Really...it's not bad at all. I was back in class the next day.

Getting the holes packed with medicine really sucks at the time, but it's worth it in the end.

I slept that night... I woke up and found blood on my nice white pillow. Only the first night though.

Oh and yes, taht was with gauze.

The screaming was said to keep my family up as well, but I was in too much pain to remember it, so that's good.

(jk on the screaming part... the blood part was true though :P... then again I did sleep semi face-down...)

The only thing that sucked, at least for me, is they gave me some mouthrinse that I had to use to fight off infection where they pulled the teeth out, and it literally made me lose my sense of taste. It totally sucked. After taking it, anything and everything tasted totally bland. At first I thought I was going crazy until I read the side of the bottle. Other than that, it was OK.

It's been about a year since I had mine out. When I got home right after the procedure, I seriously wanted to die. It was terrible. I couldn't use the vicadin they gave me, b/c i threw up (which felt wonderful in those open wounds) after I took it the first time. (I know it was the vicadin b/c i didn't use it until the next day, and I was feeling fine before that)

All during that time, i kept remembering that line from Fight Club: "You can swallow a pint of blood before you get sick."

Note to self.... don't read threads about something that hasn't happened yet until AFTER it happens because the posts you'll find in them....

A sage advice to give to yourself.

My wisdom teeth never proved to be a problem to me. No procedures necessary. I guess I never acquired enough wisdom in my life to overflow the boundaries.

Man, you all are wussies. I've never taken a single painkiller in my life. (except maybe advil, but not for its painkilling abilities.)

Frankly, I don't trust the stuff, and I experienced more pain when I had a leg infection in 1st grade than I have ever, EVER felt in my entire life, so it doesn't really bother me anymore.

(You know the pain is bad when you get knocked out from it, and that merely having your leg touching a pillow is enough to bring tears to your eyes. THAT sucks.)

I had to have some teeth out... was some of the front ones (not right at the front, but the first non-wisdom tooth on each side). It diddnt hurt much at the time due to the local anesthetic. I do remember my lip feeling like it was huge though :p It sucked eating for the next few days though :(

I didn't get knocked out, either, but the gas initiated such euphoria that I lost all sense of what was going on until long after it stopped.

Last checkup I was told that I don't have upper wisdom teeth. SCORE! Now lets hope the bottom 2 don't grow crooked or whatever dignifies taking them out.
