Supposedly this game is a "GT4 Killer" as they say.  I don't know about that, but it does look damned cool.  It's got less cars than GT4, but it's got a full damage model, and insane cusomization possibilities.
This game just proves that Microsoft is really up to just about any challenge. It's getting great reviews and it'll be in stores tomorrow. I'll have to be there early to grab a copy.

 The reason it's so much more realistic is because of it's physics engine. Where GT4 uses realistic numbers to determine a car's performance, it's still very basic. There's a general formula to figure acceleration, including mods and all. For Forza, each part of the drive train is figured into the formula. For example, the weight of the camshafts, cam gears, crankshaft, pistons, driveshaft, axles, brakes, wheels etc. is figured into the formula to determine acceleration, throttle response, and top speed. Same things for turning, braking, and well...everything. GT4 just isn't that complex and the realism suffers because of it.
