I just bought it. I saw a commerical for it during the Apprentice and forgot it was out, grabbed my keys before the show was over and ran out the door and was back before my screen server even activated on my PC. Which is 10 minutes.

I dropped my shoe sprinting through the parking lot to Game Stop, got the last copy behind the shelf for the PS2. I'm about to play it.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

Why the hell wasn't it made for Gamecube? I hate it when games come out for 2 of the 3 systems. It should be all 3, or exclusive, damnit.

Any chance for a PC port? I haven't owned a console since SNES.

I'm more happy if a game I'm anticipating is on only one of the consoles, even if I don't own that console. It means they aren't being market hogs, and are actually making a quality game that happens to work on only one platform. Like PS2 specific titles ALWAYS look better than multi-platform games.

They look better because there made to work only with PS2 systems, even though a PC will always be better than any other platform.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Though it doesn't follow the movie (at least from what I've read). But still a great game.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

It follows the movie, it just "games" the movie up a bit. For example, a brief five-second action slice in the movie is now an epic duel in the game.

Been playing it on Xbox for the last hour or so. It plays a lot like Jedi Power Battles, at least in my opinion. I'm facing off against Count Dooku. 25 deaths later, still at it. This guy is tough.

I bought it and beat it in around 4/4.5 hours. Now I kind of wish I had just rented it instead. I don't tend to replay a lot of games, simply because I get bored with pretty much any game after a play through. I might keep it simply for a time-killer whenever I get bored.

I only had trouble with the last level. Everything else was easy enough. Now that I've said that, I should probably go play through the game on Hard to see how many times I get killed. :o

There are 2 endings to the game.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

I thought the second one was funny.

Might buy sometime at the weekend considering I just got £100.
nope.

What engine does this run on? I got the impression from short tv spots that it was the (modified) JO/JA engine?

it's not for PC, so i assume it uses its own engine... atleast i don't see why a console game would use a (poorly done) PC game engine instead of going to standard route of building a new one specifically for the consoles
Moo.

Well JO and JA were also released for the consoles... so they would have already had all that work done for them, all they had to do is make the game based around the engine, saving the time of working on a whole new engine..

I got a somewhat similar feeling when I saw the commercial... but I haven't paid a great amount of attention to movie/game info just so I dont ruin much for myself (i know only very little about the entire series and such, so a lot of it will be entirely new to me, except for the gist of the whole anakin becoming darth vader thing.

Being developed by The Collective, I'm guessing it's the same engine that powers Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb.

right, but it was designed for the PC, and from what I'm told the console versions sucked pretty bad... and the JO/JA engines aren't all that good in the first place, so I really don't see why they would use an already crappy engine for a platform it wasn't designed for (therefore making it worse), for a completely different game genre (third person action platformer instead of an fps), instead of making their own engine for their own needs

but then again, it is lucasarts...
Moo.
