SAT's! I did above average on the PSAT's, but they beefed up the SAT's a lot and they gave us the PSAT's for the old SAT's. I'm a bit worried, but I think I'll do okay. Wish me luck!

I'll masticate for you.

The tests are all reasoning. Stay cool and you'll do fine.

Don't worry, the SATs are easy. I took them in Grade 12 because I was thinking of going to university in the states. You'll do just fine.

Except for the fact that you can take it again next year (assuming you're not a senior) and have the previous year's score completely disappear (at least as far as most colleges are concerned).

Man, I miss the days of high school standardized tests though.

For those who have taken the SATs:

Realize that since ~March, the tests have been made harder, and if I remember correctly, include an essay this time. I was the last class to not have to take them, (although I didn't take SATs at all, never needed em) and the last class to have to take the poor Ohio Graduation Tests.

I feel so sorry for those poor kids that have to take the OGT. It's not like the proficiency tests, where you can pass with your eyes closed.

It has Algebra, Geometry, English (including a couple essays), History, and worst of all, Physics. Remember that these kids have to take this test Sophmore year, which means they have to know stuff they would normally take their senior year. (Physics used to be Senior year only, but now its required that you take it earlier)

Break a leg (do it literally and maybe you can get outta the test).

Those SATs you took without the Essay may not be viable in some colleges later on. I'd take it again with the essays.

Um not if he's already college bound. If he was the last class that didn't have to take them, he's '05, which means he's already been accepted (hopefully) to some college. The majority of '05-prior kids took the SAT II writing test anyways, which was the same thing .. all they did was get rid of the SAT II writing test and add it to the SAT I

And yes, they made both sections (math a bit more so, being that they extended it to include algebra II concepts) harder in the new one.

I took it today. Not too bad. 4 1/2 hours long, but not bad.
